Everything you do, you do it down to the last detail. The guys with the thumbs down are just jealous and can't do anything with their hands..Very good job in all areas Steve.

Thanks for the comments, I think I know where the thumb down comes from... Old Rusty fans... I don't worry to much about it. After all we al have an opinion

Congrats on 40K. I remember that I found your videos one night around 2am in my "Recommended" list. I think it was your video about how to remove Ivy from walls. I found your Land Rover and bulding videos, and I subscribed:)

One thing I have found helpful is to us "Flush Cut" diagonal cutters when trimming cable ties. This will eliminate the sharp edge left by standard diagonal cutters and help avoid cuts on your hands later when servicing the tractor later...

I don't know if it's possible, but if it is, I would remove the tube that holds the wiring loom, cut a channel in it in the backside/facing the engine that is wide enough to pass the cables through.
@D3Sshooter3 жыл бұрын
that could be an option

Mooi gedaan.

Loving this build series. It’s really taking shape! I guess you could always de pin the front harness main connector to thread it through the tube the repin it afterwards?

Hello from New Zealand, thanks for your excellent videos. I am currently refurbishing a '72 David Brown 990. As you pointed out, removing the steering column allows better access to the dash. However, in doing so, I have somehow disconnected the steering column entirely, allowing the ball bearings to fall into the oil below. I have managed to fish them out of the oil, however I am struggling to reassemble the steering assembly. Any ideas, advice or additional information? Thanks again, Jakob

Hi Steve, Thanks for all of your videos depicting your repairs and restoration to the David Brown 990 Selectamatic! They are not only very interesting but also informative to me as another owner of one of these fine tractors. Do you think that you might ever create a video concerning the power steering pump on this machine? I have ulterior motives, of course, because I'm going to have to put new seals and a new filter in the power steering pump of my DB 990.

Couldn't you have unpinned a connector to pull the wire to the alternator?? In that pipe? Looks great and should give many years of trouble free service! 👍
@D3Sshooter3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right I could have done that...
@ryanwsha93123 жыл бұрын
Sorry to say that but you are a bit wrong about the key switch because you have forgotten the switch for the heater Normally it should be like that( there are some numbers at the back of the switch): 1 : power suplie in 2 : electricity alimentation to lights switchs and horn or other things 3 : power for the heather 4 : power to start the tractor Anyhow very instructive video with some really good lessons about restoration and stuff.
@D3Sshooter3 жыл бұрын
Hi, well some have a heather, mine does not. But if you have a heather some can be connected to a separate switch ( push switch), or indeed to position 2 of the contact switch and then position 3 for the trip wire. Its a good point and `i should have mentioned that, but as mine has never gotten a heather , I did not cable it in...

@jaapdewind87743 жыл бұрын
Steven, you can disconnect the pins from the alternatorsocket easely to guide the wire through the tube, can't you?
@notajp3 жыл бұрын
They make tools to let you remove terminals from a plastic connector body. Would allow you to remove the wires to run thru the tube, then replace the terminals back into the connector body. They are actually very cheap. I have a couple of different sets.
