D5Mr vs D5s Part 2 - Drift Spot Lincoln

Sorry for the cars in the background, Kev and I needed to be at the track to discuss how the MR was settling in and our thoughts regarding MR vs D5S.

Would have been nice to have the comparison with the MR running the normal front suspension and the S running the standard low rear motor. IMO you changed the two major differences between the two so that they were barely different.

You didn't listen too well, the comparison would have been a walk over for the D5s, by the time we got to review it, Kev had already upgraded the MR loads to get it to drive right, out of the box none of us were impressed. I'd buy the D5s all day over the MR. Hope that helps.

I’m not done with the video or even seen the driving yet but looking at the two builds Im wondering what the point in two different chassis is if he was just gonna set it up exactly like the other car.. The motor mount positions are almost the same. Slight difference there.. But really it seems like I’m just looking at two D5 S builds.. Would like to see a straight up D5m vs D5s comparison built with manual specs and true mid and rear motor locations.

I can see your point. In video 1 I discussed the issues we didn't like with the MR. Sadly it took us time to compare them and Kev had made improvements. He made the front end changes because none of us liked how the MR drove. We discuss it in the video. Basically what we did was make an MR Good, which meant using a lot of S parts to make it drive right in our eyes. My S is rear motor out back. The MR being mid motor is so much more twitchy, but doesn't drive like a better made Mid chassis like a YD2 for example. To me... its D5s all day and the MR isn't as good. If you get MR expect to need upgrades till it drives right.

@@DriftSpotLincoln I watched the first video before I watched this one. I also don’t like the new wheel bolt system shown and would have also changed it. I understand wanting to tune the car and get it right before you make a video to show the viewers two cars drifting well. I also think showing us how the car was as intended from Sakura would have been very interesting. Then continuing from there with a “Mod Series” so to say showing the changes and improvements made to the car. This video makes the Mid motor car look like the better car but in reality it’s just more adjusted.

planning to build the MR, can I ask for the parts number of axle and drive shaft you used on the MR?

I dont have them. But check RC mart or the sakura shop. Buy the d5s parts and your golden

Bonjour, excuse me but I do not understand all of the English language, I have just bought a D5MR and I would like to change the front and rear axles to no longer have the problems of fixing the wheels! and I believe you are talking about bearings? if you can give me the good references to buy, a big thank you!

your background music makes it hard to follow you sometimes, maybe turn it down a notch. And try to avoid having 2 music tracks - loved to see the MR drift but having music in the room AND your background music makes it a bit annoying. Love the content though! And really appreciate your comparison! Just good natured tips to improve your videos

A few about mate. Our club is Lincoln. NRD is Wakefield, Ronin Drift Lounge is close too, and Drift Manji have a track. Midlands Drift society. All of them have a Facebook group to arrange meets, so join those. 😀

@@lancewood1410 then I would be mounting the esc over the back. Or even the battery make up a mount? Esc on lower deck where battery is? Tbh. Grip is fine on carpet but for hard floor yeh you probably need to move weight back.

This video’s are so high quality and love the driving as well. Just a question what camera and microphone are you using for these videos??? I want to do the same type of content on KZbin but in Ireland. 👍

Thanks mate. Its actually a really simple poor man's setup. I use a go pro hero 4 on a car or when on track. Then when doing the videos at a desk or showing a car its a Samsung s9 with an external mic. I forget the brand but £30 off amazon. :)

The MR and S chassis are around £120gbp. Have a look on RC mart they post worldwide. :)
