That brought back a few memories. I had a stump like that, not as big, get stuck between the blade and the machine. You are correct when you say I should have been paying better attention. I had to go back to the shop for cribbing and put the blade down on the stump and raise the tracks up for the blocks. Ya just can’t fix stupid! Just put a mike next to the engine so we can hear that beast growling. Thanks Jeff.

Was never any doubt she'd get to the root of the problem. And that has always been the worry when pushing out something that big... getting hung up on the root ball. I reckon you need to ditch the air-con cabs and get a scrub canopy and tree pusher and go chaining with your 2 D9s

That's nothing, my dad use to dig out big old growth stumps, Firs that are 8 to 12 foot around with a small International TD9 with a 4 in 1 bucket 1962 vintage, now that was working it. The D9 does have a cool sound to it though.

You will have to put a tree pusher on your blade if you need to do much of that stuff. Not much will stop you then. Push from 10 or 12 feet up. Before tree pushers they would build a big heap of dirt next to the offending party and get leaverage that way. The other way is 2 D9s and a good length of anchor chain. Shift a lot of scrub then. Jeff

I used to clear trees like that that we're scated in fields with a D9G over here , had a 3 Tyne on the back as well , most times would have to do a triangle rip pattern rip around the base as deep as I could get the ripper and push low and lifting at the same time to get the root ball out in one piece other wise you can snap of the trunks and leave the buts, had a tree Speer on the blade as well but usually used the corner of the blade as the Speer would snap trees if you were not paying attention , you did a fine job getting it out in one piece 👍😁
