I had a hard week at work and then I tune in to this and now I’m in such a good mood. My two lovable legends eating bad tasting, painful sauce, so a lady far away in nyc can chuckle and laugh and be filled with affection. And, once again, I’m struck with the adorableness. I eat super hot stuff a lot, love the crazy chilli peppers and my Vindaloos and Phaals. Seriously if you get mouth burn, cold drinks only help for a few seconds. Milk, ice cream, yoghurt and all that might help you a bit but it takes about half an hour to quench the burn by which time you'll go through about 4 pints of milk or whatever else. I know, I did it that way for years. And one day after a Satanically spicy Phaal🔥 I was so frustrated that I couldn't put the fire in my mouth out I said -to hell with it" I'm going to drink a boiling hot cup of tea, I'm going to try and make it worse seeing as trying to make it better isn't working. I took a slurp of PIPING HOT tea,(almost too hot to drink) and was shocked that the burn dropped by about 50% within seconds. A few more slurps and the burn was gone completely. Within two minutes maximum a complete recovery. I looked into the science of it a few years ago, and the hot drink is basically doing a reset on the temperature receptors in your mouth which have been tricked into going on turbo by the capsaicin in chilli powder or hot peppers. And because it's hot it dissolves the oily capsaicin in your mouth WAY quicker than any cold drink will ever do. I seriously recommend it to anyone who loves a good Indian, Mexican, hot sauce or hot chips. I hated being bloated from the cold drinks. Now with a cup of tea I can keep diving into my curries and can eat loads more until maximum fullness, instead of stopping because I got a nuclear meltdown going on in my cake hole. You know it makes sense Mandingos. 😆

My partner was diagnosed with uterine cancer two years ago (now all clear). For the both of us is was the worst day of our lives.
