@Rasmus Andersson Ok vi kör på modersmålet för enkelhetens skull. Absolut har många varit okej i år men ingen som står ut riktigt. Alla låtar har känts väldigt "copy-paste". Många låtar skrivna av samma personer, framförda av samma gamla pålitliga artister. Inget direkt fel med detta men i år så har alla bidrag följt receptet för hur en framgångsrik låt i mello sett ut senaste 10 åren för noga. Självklart att man vill ha framgångsrika, bra låtar men baksidan har blivit att det känns oinspirerat. Mamas och Dotter har varit mina "favoriter" hittills men jag känner ändå att de varit "platta" och inte kommit med något nytt/riskabelt/icke tidigare testat. Min kritik är släpp in fler låtar av folk som inte redan är etablerade i mello, våga satsa på något osäkert. Börjar kännas som ett gäng låtskrivare och artister har ett monopol på att uppträda och ett väldigt litet antal man inte redan sett får uppträda. Det har varit tråkigt, 5/10, inte ett enda bidrag med en faktisk grym vinnar-låt.

I just had a look at the translation of the Icelandic lyrics and realised they are complete nonsense. Basically just instructing everybody on how to do the dance, so that people can then do it properly to the song being performed in English. So they didn't only joke about the fact that you can't play real instruments at the contest (through those fake brass instruments), and poke fun at the wind machine - they also made fun of Söngvakeppnin itself, and the rule that the song needs to be performed in Icelandic first ^^.

I am a sucker for the upbeat and genuinely different songs in eurovision (I was pulling for romanias yodel rap, netta, and norway 2019 for example.) There is something different to this and that is that bassline, it is so crunchy and smooth it had me hooked right away then I started to appreciate the uniqueness of the leads voice, I love this song.
