There is a channel run by an American & Vietnamese couple who lived in Da Nang for about a year, the boulevard and beach were much busier during high season. You mentioned crossing the roads but they would regularly cycle in the city and up in the hills. Just a heads up if planning to visit Hôì An, the Japanese Bridge, one of the main attractions is closed for renovation.

I spent a month in Da Nang a couple of years ago and I love it there. Great place! There's an excellent Indian restaurant along the riverside, near the Dragon Bridge. (We were there for a month in July and it was quite crowded then, but not so much as to be unpleasant.).

Several expats are retired there in Da Nang & love the affordability. Even though there is no retirement visa - many do the "visa runs" every 90 days in organized routine trips ! Rumors are the Govt. has been tasked with doing a retirement visa of some kind. -?- Time will tell if it will result in a popular destination with their requirements. Living there seemingly is already worth a visa run every 3 months for many ? 🤗 Cost of living is as good as it gets nearly anywhere - food is healthy cheap and wonderful - while rent can be quite affordable as well ! Motorbike rent is also cheap. Low cost travel in and out of country can also be had. This seemingly accommodates slow travelers too - with Laos Cambodia Thailand and the Philippines so easy to get to. 👍 🙏 👌 ✌

Da Nang is where I want to visit for my first trip to Vietnam. It is over 2 million people like Phnom Penh, Cambodia, but it is also right on the ocean and is halfway up Vietnam with a more temperate climate. I am so excited! It should also be a great dating scene like Phnom Penh with that many people!

Denang is supposed to be the place where the Vietnamese would like to live because of the quality of life. Everything works , and the infrastructure is good . The dragon of the dragon bridge breathes fire on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The beach you visited was used by American forces to relax during the Vietnam war. You commented that Denang is quiet, but compared to Saigon EVERYWHERE else is chilled. I guess next you're going to Hoi An. I hope you like it as much as I do .

The place is amazing when its hot, when you visit the lady buddha at the end of the beach on the mountain, looking back at the city and beach is amazing, when I was there last year early august, it was 38c daily with clear sky's, the beach water felt like a warm bath hahaha

I live and work in South Florida, 20 min drive to Miami as I live in Fort lauderdale. That beach looks nicer than here in Miami. Also, that meal in Miami would cost $60.00 and parking is crazy and would be $30.00

What an awesome place Da Nang is Tom and Lay. Especially at night with all the Condos lit up. Big surf Lay? Looks small hehe. On our 90 Mile Beach, you will get consistent 8 ft waves crashing onto the beach. But the hotel you guys are staying in looks awesome.

Highly recommend Grand seaview Hotel in an thuong near the good bars and 150m from my khe beach. 250k vnd at time of writing.pool, clean rooms everyday, best hotel for the money I have ever stayed at and that's after 21 years as a traveller. The Vietnamese are not known for sunbathing , they are at around 5.30am to exercise when it's cool. This time of year is known for being wet.On and evening you see plenty out but , this is usually on Friday , and Saturday when they like to relax.Its very cheap, here ,
