Loud bangs and yells filtered through from outside his workshop, but Big Mek 'Ardnut shrugged, put a hand in front of his face and peered through the gap on his fingers. Suitably protected, 'Ardnut held the thick slab of metal in place with his bionic foot and began welding it onto the battle wagon he was currently working on. The shower of sparks illuminated his jutting Jaw and toothy grin. The luminescent motes sank into the deep green flesh of his arm, a smattering of fresh welts joining the countless, pockmarked scars covering his leather like hide. 'Ardnut stepped back to admire his handiwork. Not bad, he mused. Would have been better with something to hold it in place, but oil rag and Jakk were nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, the door to his workshop slammed open, knocking over pile of scrap. The Mek boy slammed the corrugated metal door closed behind him, holding it shut. His eyes were wide with an uncharacteristic panic as 'Ardnut rounded on him. "B-Boss We'z got a problem!" 'Ardnut growled and looked over with menace in his good eye. "Oh, we'z about too Wizzcog! You noze not ta interrupt me wen I iz workin' on summat!" Wizzcog pressed himself against the door even more firmly. "It's da Grots boss- Dey iz revoltin'!" 'Ardnut's scowl deepened, bionic eye whirring menacingly. "I already noze that! Any scragger wiv eyes can see that! An' anywun with a nose can smell it!" Wizzcog shook his head vehemently. "Naw Boss dat's not wot I mea-- " His sentence was cut short by an ear splitting, clanging crash, followed by a scream which terminated in a wet crunch as a tank crashed through the door, crushing him under it. Vicious blades mounted on the vehicle's hull pierced 'Ardnut's stomach, pinning him to the battle wagon behind him. Coughing blood, he looked groggily up, and found himself looking down the long barrel of the deep red vehicle. A diminutive figure stood astride the the tank's Cupola, back lit by the light spilling through the now open door, their purple Cape billowed around them dramatically. The Gretchin looked down at 'Ardnut from under the wide brim of a red 'umie Boss 'at. It folded its arms, shifting the padded muscles underneath its Red jump suit. "Today might be the worst day of your life" it squeaked imperiously at him, "But for me, it iz a... It iz a...Itz... ah scrag it!" The Grot pulled out a p*st*l and sh*t 'Ardnut. "I really really felt like I woz on ta summat dere" He said ruefully as they pulled away, the Big Mek's body dangling limply from the front of his tank.

Yep, the army that deals damage in one phase of the game hits on 4s in that phase, unless you bring along a specialist unit made of tissue paper that the enemy will immediately focus down.
