I agree, many batreps have got too techy and competitive that they are impossible to watch and very dull. I prefer lore based/story with relaxed fun and well painted armies.

I'm not even three minutes into the vid and just the sheer amount of friendly laughs is showing in abundance. Also big kudos to winters for throwing in a frankie goes to hollywood song lyric. I'm 12 minutes in, guard about to start turn 1.... just want to say that I love this already no matter how it turns out. I've been playing since 2 weeks after 2nd edition dropped, Guard were my first and are still my primary and favorite (despite having the entire 2nd company ultramarines amongst more armies than I care to admit to (I've played the 2nd Company as the 13th because Winters, and am now addicted to that way)). I just played in my 1st tournament 16 days ago. I had no interest in trying to be competitive so took an Armored Company (demolisher tank commander, 2 inf squads in Chimeras, 3 leman russes, 3 baslisks, 2 sentinels, original armorcast baneblade) just to shoot a bunch of tanks. It was fantastic! So is this.

The use of the Overrun strat to consolidate the Haruspex into the demolisher was an illegal move. You can only make a normal move at the end of the fight phase with that strat. Kind of tied up the demolisher from shooting, which is a big unit for the guard. Only a fun game though and fun battle report to watch. Just thought I would point it out for next time.

God I hope the Krieg rules in the new Codex aren't literally less than worthless like they are in Imperial Armor. If you don't explode (84% chance) you can roll a 4+ (50% chance) to shoot ONE gun ONCE on your LOWEST bracket (16% chance to hit) and then HOPEFULLY it's at least S9-10 so you might wound on 3's (66% chance) and then more than likely they're saving on 4's (50% chance) It is literally better and easier to just not even use it for the sake of time given the ASTRONOMICAL unlikelihood that it will ever do anything.

Can someone explain to me how charge declaring works? Is it possible to not declare a unit as the target of a charge but still end up within engagement range of it?

No, if you declare a charge then you can only end your charge move in engagement range of the units you declared against. You can however pile in into engagement range of a unit you did not charge at the start of the fight phase (but you cannot allocate any attacks to models you did not charge).
