That red #23 was the first Porsche ever to get an _overall_ win at the LeMans 24 hour race. Porsches had won at LeMans before, but always within their categories, behind cars racing in higher displacements (like all the 2-litre Porsche 906's finishing behind the GT40 Mk II's in Ford v Ferrari). Team Salzburg was a privateer team, so this was a big feat -- They bested not only the "works" (meaning a factory team) Ferrari 512 M but also THREE works Porsche 917s in the field. Big win for the little guy

The red 917 would fit perfect to the red Porsche Race Transporter from Schuco in 1/64😊 So i like the red one a little bit more 🤭

Sparky does make the 917K in a silver Martini livery, the Sebring 1971 winner! I have it, it's incredibly detailed. It's even got the tape the pit crew put over the panel gaps of the headlights and body sections to make the car more aerodynamic. The fine metal flake paint is also very nice 👌

I have Sparky's previous edition of that #23 Salzburg from the carded blister, and I've noticed some differences to yours, mostly in the undercarriage: First, your car rolls! Mine doesn't. My car has black inside the silver exhaust holes. Your car has screws, mine has rivets. Where your spare wheel and trusses mount underneath the wing is all black, but that thin platform is painted red on mine. Where your base has the Sparky logo, mine has a keyhole to mount to its pedestal. Mine doesn't say Made in China, tho it does say so on the card. The only other difference I see is that the slots of the NACA ducts atop the rear fenders are painted black on mine, which appears odd with the decal of the white stripes bridging right over them just like on yours. Beyond that tho, everything looks the same!
