Dabo Swinney Is Destroying Clemson Football | Clemson Football 2024

Dabo Swinney is destroying the program he built, Clemson Football. The Clemson Tigers are one of four college football teams to have not brought in at least one transfer player, and with an incoming high school recruiting class with only 22 players, Clemson's depth chart is suffering attrition. If Dabo Swinney wants to compete for ACC and National Championships and not take a backseat to the Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes, he must adapt immediately. I worked with a guy out of college that went to Clemson. I root for Nebraska. From there, grew up there, live here. I'm waiting for Clemson to fall to 3-9/4-8 seasons so I can hit him up and say "yea times are tough. I get ya."

Great vid Sam, Dabo once mentioned how they were 1 touchdown away from being 8-0 to start the season last year as opposed to 4-4. The same team that lost 28-7 to DUKE, an academically acclaimed basketball school.

They finished strong. Clemson has been a power PROGRAM for generations. They lead their all time series with Ohio St. Just saying.

@@armandhammer3782 before the 2010s they never played ohio st and only had 1 chip. Clemson is NOT a power program, Jus had a good run. Something like colorado in the 90s

I'm glad to see more of the standard videos coming out. I think you're right, Dabo's absolutely the reason Clemson is having problems right now. However, I think that this goes well beyond just the transfer portal. The transfer portal could help Clemson out significantly, yes, but if it was just the portal, Clemson wouldn't be where it is. Clemson's problems are systematic and largely a result of Dabo. Bad QB development, bad coaching, and Dabo interfering in the offense have hampered Clemson significantly. Cover 3 was talking and indicated that there's a good chance that if this year doesn't go well, Clemson could lose some key staff because Dabo is basically tanking their job prospects. Garrett Riley was the hottest OC when he went to Clemson and seemed in line to become a HC. 1 year at Clemson and that talk is largely dead. I would be curious to know your coach rankings since CBS and ESPN have put out some of theirs.

Idk how I feel about Dabo not going to the portal. Obviously it’s something that needs to happen now to solidify a roster, but he feels strongly he doesn’t need to. Let’s give him Space and see how this year goes

Man, when i was in highschool everyone talked about dabo like he was the next big thing in CFB. The next Saban even. I dont understand why he doesnt take a single transfer. Even if he only gets 2 or 3 guys, the team overall improves. Also, he doesnt NEED to get starters. Maybe theres some guys with a few years of elegibility remaining that dabo can develop.

Early on Dabo had Off & Def coordinators that were holding him up. They left to be head coached elsewhere. By himself he is not as stellar as people thought.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention Florida State’s successful use of the portal as a comparison considering they are their direct competition for the ACC crown. Great video though!

Part of the reason I did not make the Florida State comparison is I think the Seminoles have passed the Tigers, for now.

Successful? They were lucky to beat Clemson last year in OT. Looks like those FSU transfers bolted after the season and didn't even stick around for the 63-3 loss to UGA in the bowl game. Real loyalty there. Talk about take the money and run.

I could not, in any way, shape, or form, disagree with this theory more. Dabo will right the ship. The Clemson team the finished the season was a much improved team. They finished winning five games in a row and destroyed Kentucky in their bowl game. They will be more than okay.

QB is the only position you had to bring in someone. OLine and maybe a DE would be nice. But not going after Maalik Murphy or Cam Ward is just weird.

I think a huge part of Clemson's success has been recruit, develop and retaining players. Every few years he has an elite team that has been in the program and developed in his program. Clemson is still a top program in the country, they just haven't hit on any classes recently..not all recruiting classes are the same, sometimes recruiting classes turnout to not be what you want. Dabo will retire soon, or he will have to get with the times and start utilizing the Portal. Although i understand why he doesn't like it, because usually players who are in the portal are divas, and cant blame the man for trying to keep and maintain his culture, ina game nowadays that is full of entitled spoiled kids that dont know how to deal with adversity and have any sense of loyalty.
