Just done a t/belt on a renault with this k9k engine last week sure and never done the water pump as it felt spot on , i'll need to change it now after seeing this😕. Thanks for sharing

I wouldn’t John, I believe it was a silly aftermarket design flaw. The car is gone out with 3 or 4 days but I just figured out where the piece came from today & though I’d share it 🤔👍👍

I had the piece that caused the damage but couldn’t figure out where it came from but when I figured it out though I had to post it, lucky Duster owner alright 😬 Cheers Wackey 👍

It was fitted by another garage but it didn’t look O.E, it was a pity I didn’t save photos of the valve to piston marks. Lucky it done no damage 😬

Yes the seem quite strong & are in a lot of Nissan & Renaults too 😉

I was able to see any markings on it so it must be terribly cheap, but it is possibly worth looking out for that tab on waterpumps for this engine type 🤷🏼‍♂️
