Thank you for this very interesting and useful video. There are a lot of useless AWD tests on city and tarmac roads and quite a lot of AWD tests where the Duster is confronting uncommon situations, such as climbing very steep slopes. All of them are interesting, but the most part of Duster 4x4 drivers need to use it in situations similar to the one you displayed in this video. Country roads, mountain roads with high bumps, snow alpine roads...this is where a car like the Duster is a good solution.

@Super Man I too have two Dusters. Our 1st one is 4 years old and I have had no problems with it. they creek and squeek a bit but you get what you pay for. this is how I am certain my new 2018 Duster if faulty. My main surprise is the attitiude of Renault/Dacia toward my case. they are making out I am a compete idiot. I have four second opinions from garages that solely deal with gearboxes and all have unanimously deemed this a fault in the car, (signed and stamped) so I know I am right. Everybody can here it. All I am saying is just beware of the reaction of Renault/Dacia if you seem to have a serious fault. My personal point of view, (HAVING BOUGHT TWO DUSTERS). is spend a little more and buy something else.

@Super Man The car is 4 months old from brand new. It carries a 3 year warranty. It still has 32 months guarantee left. I noticed the problem on day one. Took it back a week later and they (Renault/Dacia) have been , to put it politely..unhelpful since I took it back.

A handbrake system that isn't electronic? You have to put the key into a lock and turn it to start the engine? No dual or quad zone climate control only air conditioning? The heater and ventilation system is accessed using knobs and buttons so I can look at the road while using them and not have to stare at an app on a touchscreen with multiple menus and sub menus? DACIA. Cars that are NOT stuffed with useless, pointless, overtechnical, crap that I don't need, want or want to pay for. I love you Dacia. Please keep making your cars just like this. (Add an auto 4x4 option for the complete win)

It’s a capable off-road vehicle, indeed. Wheelspin is limited by the ESC system very effective, there’s no need for a manual locker. I had just one situation in which I missed a low range, a steep sandy dune.

Rider Geek you are totaly wrong. Independent suspension allows less axle articulation but it is much better on road and on small potholes. In solid axle if one side ones up because of bump...second side is forced to move down.

This is light offroading, shows only geometrical capacity. Previous Duster had higher ground clearance and switchable differential. I don't know what Reno is thinking about - probably how to improve car design, rather than its off-road capabilities.

You are both wrong. First Duster didn’t have a single one diff lock. Both cars have two open diferentials and option to lock multi plate electromagetic clutch between axles. Wheels are just stoped by brakes. New Duster has the same construction like first one it has just newer clutch and improved software. It's good off road, the exterior looks nice, it's spacious and it's cheap but the good things end here. It has marginal safety on road, the chassis is weak and light but not because of using light materials but because of using thin weak components. The on road agility is also a safety factor which the duster is not so good at. Most of the components are selected to be as cheap as possible.

inox1ck you are an idiot. First this car has no frame. Second the better car perform off road, on gravel, on bumps, on potholes the worse it perform on road on smooth tarmac. Even one milion dolars worth cars like WRC cars have exactly the same. Duster is the best off roader in small SUV and small corssovers. It has the longest suspension travel and softer suspension set up also for worse and off road conditions. If you make it lower, stiffer, with shorter suspension travel you will improve some behavior on smooth tarmac but you will destroy whole off road and gravel capabilities.

Hello, I am a romanian customer of Dacia brand and I have a problem with Dacia Client’s Voice service. I contacted them about the fact that at my 2018 Duster 1.2 tce Comfort (with Media Nav ordered in the same time as the car as a optional feature ,)at my Media Nav Evolution sistem , i do not have a feature that in the manual of Madia nav at the page 58 I read that it must have a voice recognition sistem and a voice control sistem that would allow me to input a destination adress into navigation sistem of the car or i would be able to call a contact from the contact list of my phone using only my voice and a button that should be on my steering wheel. That button does not exist .The text says that the Media Nav does have the feature , nothing about depending of the level of equipment of the car, nothing about depending of the country in which is being sold I contacted Dacia Voice via phone and mail and told them about my problem . First they asked me about my phone that i use ( but the button or sistem does not exist it's not a problem about functionality)and then they only told me that they are thanking me for my call. And that's it. I told them that i want the sistem installed or some vouchers for about 190 euros the price of that sistem that i found in my country at the volskwagen site. Or something. Just a thank you for your call is just not enough. Finally i told that i have a you tube chanel and that i made a review about the car in roumanian , with some 25000 views and that i will make an update video at 6 months of using and 10.000 km in wich i will speak my honest and subjective opinion one in roumanian one in english and that the car is great the company not so great in my view. No response. So I made the update video and now i am posting my story in every comment of every article that I will find becouse i think that if Dacia takes those no action policy in that problem maybe if the engine will break in guarantee period they will thake the same (no)action???? I think that you deserve to know about that situation Thank you

Dovezile de care spuneți nu știu care ar putea fi atât timp cât în manual este descris un buton care nu exista arată și poza acelui buton și descrie și amplasarea lui. Vocea clientului recunoaște că ar fi trebuit sa am dotarea. Service-ul agresat adică reprezentanta Dacia același lucru. Personal am ajuns la concluzia că dotarea respectiva era standard pentru prestige , iar la comfort care nu are Media Nav nu există dotarea. Însă, odată cu achiziționarea Media Nav cei din fabrica trebuiau să modifice doua lucruri fata de dotarea standard comfort: 1 tabloul de bord și anume să scoată varianta mică și să pună pe cea mare. Asta s-ar făcut. Și 2 sa schimbe volanul cu unul pregătit pentru aceasta dotare adică cu unul cu ....nefericitul de buton și asta ....nu au făcut-o. Și știți ce răspuns am primit nu? Mulțumim pentru apel. Cred că sunt mai inteligent decât cineva care pentru a înțelege ceva îi trebuie doar majuscule și cuvinte simple .....daca aș căuta nod în papura aș reclama că deși am rubrica de consum de combustibil de la ultima resetare in pagina dedicata statisticilor despre autoturism al Media Nav , acesta îmi arată permanent 0 litri consumați însă mai sus îmi arată de exemplu 1000 km parcurși cu 8 l la sută Media.......nici nu m-am obosit sa mai reclama asta dar de la alți utilizatori am aflat că e o problema comună. Atunci când în februarie au început să curgă reclamațiile Dacia a scos pagina respectiva cu totul din Media Nav
