Superb ASL story. Excellent detailed movements of typical little fish. Looking forward more to your next ASL story.

Ok, so I am still learning ASL. I'm hearing but love the language; however, classifiers can be challenging. I'm trying to get better at reading them by watching different ASL stories. I think I was able to get the gist of this story. Please correct me if I am wrong. So a fish was in the ocean, happily enjoying his meal until he was captured by humans. It looked like he was describing two adults and a child (though I could be wrong). They brought the fish home and put him in a fish tank. His life became sad and dull, as all he had to look forward to was when the humans turned the lights on to feed him. However, soon one of the humans flushed him down the drain and he was back in the ocean happy again? I got confused towards the end a bit, so I am not sure how accurate i am there.

From what I gathered one of the humans _returned_ the fish to the ocean after seeing that it wasn't happy. But this was cool, right?
@BloodRoseKitten5 жыл бұрын
I don't think they flushed him....I saw it as that they had made sure no one was looking, scooped him out with a net into a jar or bowl of water (the sloshing as he was carried) and dumped him back into the ocean. Then the last thing he sees before swimming away is the person waving goodbye to him. I could be wrong though. My signing is better than my receptive skill.

I am learning American Sign Language. Visual vernacular is something new to me.
@KevinKeeler-g3u Жыл бұрын
I am still learning ASL every day. Visual vernacular is a new experience for me, so forgive me if I got the story wrong. A fish is happily swimming in the water and enjoying its food until a human family (a man and woman with a daughter) goes fishing. The man’s daughter catches the fish with a fishing pole. Once the fish is caught, the man places the fish in a jar and seals it. The man and his family take the jar in a car to their house. Once the car is in the garage, the man takes the jar and empties it in a fish tank. The fish is surprised that it is in a new environment with everyone looking at him, and the man turns off the light. The fish starts to feel lonely until the humans turn on the light and opens the hatch to feed it every day; however, the fish does not like its new surroundings, nor the food that the humans are feeding him. The daughter talks to her father about taking the fish back to its habitat, and her father says yes. The daughter places the fish into a bowl, fills the bowl with water, and walks to the ocean. The girl releases the fish into the ocean while waving “good-bye”. The fish is happy to be free and swims with the other fish.
