Brian Brennan - He loves all people, and all people are sinners. We are all broken and we all have inappropriate desires for things that are not pleasing to God. Whether adultery, fornication or homosexuality or having intercourse with animals, God says NO! We are not supposed to mess with dead bodies so necrophilia is out also. We are not supposed to hurt children so pedophilia is out. The laws against these things have either changed or they are being challenged. God has never said that our unnatural desires are the reason he loves us, which is how I paraphrase your comment “God created and loves of gay men and women”. He loves us in spite of the fact that we are sinners. He loves us so much that he sent his son to suffer and die in our place, to pay the penalty for the choices we have made. It is foolish to rely on our natural desires: Our natural desires can cause us to over eat, sleep away our day, or indulge in useless activities. Our natural desires can cause us to use drugs inappropriately, or alcohol to excess. Our natural desires can cause this to allow relationships to become toxic, or neglected, we can spend our time addicted to gambling, pornography, shopping, surfing the Internet, spending time on Facebook and KZbin to the detriment of our health, our work, our families well-being.. The difference is, our society has elevated things that God opposes, then Normalizes them, and forces upon our children. While we are not the first culture to do this, there are voices in our culture that are seeking to normalize pedophilia, speaking about it in much the same way as the LGBTQ community does. We have completely normalized fornication. We might disapprove of it, but we have lots of excuses for people who commit adultery as well: if they don’t like their current marriage, they deserve to be happy wherever they can find happiness even if it is in someone else’s spouse’s bed. No fault divorce. It is man’s natural desire, in general, to have intercourse with every thing that moves on the face of earth. But God said no. God said that sex is for marriage, and marriage only. And he made a big deal about how he created us male and female. Not only that, Jesus himself repeated that phrase, male and female. This is true, that everyone feels better immediately after they give in to temptation. Then we usually start feeling good (or bad) and want to do it again. And usually we suffer consequences when we indulge in desires that are not in our best interest. Sometimes the consequence is immediate, sometimes it creeps up on us overtime, and sometimes we live in ignorance of the harm that it does for decades. There is an alternative to your scenario: people can resist their urges without having them turn it into something sick and twisted. But they have to make that choice themselves, and ideally do it as someone who has acknowledged their sin to God, who has Jesus’ Sacrificial payment/atonement for their sins, And can embark on a path with him, enter into a relationship with him on a daily basis in the power of the Holy Spirit. One of the best prayers an pray is “Show me my sin” and to just listen for first your conscience to speak up, and then the Holy Spirit. Then you have to deal with it. As homosexuality has cropped up as an abomination in both the old and New Testament, I feel pretty confident that this sin will come out sooner or later if the person is even a little bit honest with God. Gay reparation therapy is from the outside in. The Holy Spirit works from the inside out.. For some the process is faster, for some it is slower. But if we put all of our desire into the Lord, We can enter the process of being more like Jesus, and less like animals who need to obey natural desires which are already sick and twisted. There is quite a list of them, These abominations. Unfortunately, our society has rushed To embrace many of them. You are adding to the problem, even though your intent appears kindly. Trying to resist all sorts of sin is difficult because there seems to be a positive pay out for them. Trying to force change from the outside, As in gay conversion therapy, is often a failure for this reason. Only a heart and soul that humbles it self to God, and he asks for God’s Forgiveness via Jesus Will receive the Holy Spirit who can guide us into all truth if we trust him. The Holy Spirit should be invited to Help us be like Jesus. If we ask, God will show us our sins, so we can ask for forgiveness for every little thing that we do that comes to our notice. We can walk and talk with our creator and Savior and just get to know him. We are supposed to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that is a command, but we can only obey it with the help of the Holy Spirit. From my own life, and for the testimonies of others, it does seem that the transforming process and the accompanying freedom from sin for desires works at different rates of speed At which our transformation cones. Some sins may be harder or more time-consuming to let go of than others.

Is it true that a married heterosexual man will never look at another woman and not feel any lust? Is it true that a heterosexual woman experiencing difficulty in marriage never feels tempted to have an affair with that cute male coworker? My parents are happily married and they admit they are not perfect in this way. Sin is sin. When people ask, "Do you still have same sex attraction?" Sometimes the answer is complicated, or on a continuum of possibilities indicating that they still struggle with those unwanted desires. I saw someone chastise another person on another channel for still having those feelings though they had accepted Christ as their savior and renounced acting on those desires. I didn't think they needed to be chastised at all but to be encouraged that even hetero marriages are challenging, and then there's 99.9% of general population having tons of sexual experiences before marriage. The hypocrisy in so-called Christian circles is stinky.

Thank God that he saved me from this! Just when I was beginning to slowly shift into the LGBT lifestyle, I felt God calling me, and around July or August this year, I was saved. I was raised a Christian, but it was around that time I truly repented. And this sin has so much less of a hold on me. But, there are still other sins I have to say "no" to, and I still sometimes struggle with assurance of salvation, but I know God will help me through these hard times.

This is so great to hear. When I was in high school, I was largely involved in my school's Gay Straight Alliance. I professed a faith in Jesus while actively showing support for LGBT as a straight man. Now a year later, I have since graduated and my views have changed dramaticlly. I no longer support LGBT or anything of the sort. I certainly hold no hatred for LGBT people or anyone for that matter. I just now live to tell people the truth about God no matter what the cost. Call me all the names you want, but if so, show me where in the BIBLE there is anything like this about two men, or two women, becoming, "One Flesh." I'll. Wait. I just won't hold my breath. Because of sin's inclination, each and everyone of us has the potential to become one or more of these things. Homosexuality IS a choice, why? Because, instead of fighting against sin's inclination, they "chose" to give in. They allowed their fleshly desires to take control of them. Why I list homosexuality along with other sins? Because a sin is a sin! Why we jump on homosexuality rather than those other sins? Do you hear anyone saying that lying is okay and live their lives as a liars? Do you hear anyone saying that cheating is okay and live their lives as a cheaters? Do you hear anyone saying that stealing is okay and live their lives as a career thieves? Do you hear anyone saying that murdering is okay and live their lives as a serial killers? Do you hear anyone saying that raping is okay and live their lives as a serial rapists? You know that these are bad, and if anyone say that these things should be recognized and legalized then you'll call them insane. The same with homosexuals! You hear these people saying that homosexuality is okay and live their lives as homosexuals. And they call themselves Christians? There is no such thing as a gay Christian. In order for a person to call himself a Christian is that he must believe and "obey" the word of God unconditionally, that person, even though born with sin, will put up a fight against sin's inclination, not live his lifestyle in sin! Anybody who proclaims that they are living lifestyle that is contrary to God's standards of living and is okay with it are announcing rebellion against God. He is out of line with God. No, sir you are not a gay Christian, you are a gay rebel! A serial killer cannot call himself Christian, a serial rapist cannot call himself Christian, a prostitute cannot call himself Christian, a drug dealer cannot call himself Christian, a gang member cannot call himself Christian, an extortioner cannot call himself Christian, a homosexual cannot call himself Christian, because these people "aren't living" a Christian lifestyle! As for the churches who permits gay couples are cowards! They do not fear God but rather they fear man. They do not glorify God, they glorify themselves among man. I'm not judging, this is coming from the one who has the authority to judge, and that is God. This is coming from God. His word is set in stone, no matter how much you want to believe that certain sin is okay, no matter how much you want it to be, no matter how much you twist the words of God to justify your sinful lifestyle, God's words will always stand, it had in the past, it is so now, and it will be in the future! They "chose" to follow their hearts rather than follow God, they "chose" their feelings over God's words. Just because it feels right doesn't mean it is right! When they are cornered now, their last ditch effort is to say that the bible is written by man anyways and say they are Christians, who are you people? I sometime think that some man are sexually attractive, but God told me that this desire is wrong, so if I love God, then I would resist those feelings for the same sex. The point is, you have got to reject sin, do not let sin's law provail, do not let it take over. But for those who choose to remain living sinful lifestyles then you won't have a place in God's house. In order for you to live in God's house, you have to live by his rules. I agree with everything you said. But with the tone of your statement, i do not know how you are able to reach out to people struggling with same sex attraction. Do you think they will listen to you? I remember my pastor preaching "preach the gospel of grace with grace, not condemnation." When you came to know about the Lord Jesus Christ and found about His gift of salvation through Christ, the message was about His love for us. We just have to acknowledge our brokenness and our separation from the Lord because of sin (OF ALL, HETEROSEXUAL AND HOMOSEXUAL), ask for His forgiveness and ask Him to come into our heart and we will be saved. When you came to love the Lord, did He set the condition of you stopping your vices before He "accepts" you? When you came to accept the Lord, you still had your "Adamic" nature that you did not immediately stop. It was by God's grace that you gave up your wordly practices. It will help that when you witness to people who struggle with same sex attraction, i hope you stop preaching to them and make them stop their lifestyle as a condition before fellowshipping with them regardless. Instead pray for them and love them because Jesus loved you and met you where you were at. The Holy Spirit will be the one to prod them and your acceptance and display of grace for them and as they grow in their faith, that will be the thing that will make them decide to stop the lifestyle.

Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! He didn't have to preach against homosexuality because he'd already clearly preached for heterosexuality and God had clearly said homosexuality was an abomination and shown that a holy family consisted of a man and a woman. Don't expect God to change Himself or His word to suit you. You need to change to suit God. We all do. And yes, some do choose to be gay or straight. Abused women sometimes choose lesbianism because they can't stand men due to what happened to them. Some people are fluid, sometimes being attracted to guys and sometimes to girls in different phases of their life. You must think we have short memories and have forgotten all the straight people who turned gay and the gay people who turned straight right in front of us in the media, all over TV and magazines and internet. In fact, your ideology seems a little bit dated, with all the crazy fast changes in our understanding of how things work now. Kids think they're trans en masse, all their friends at once when they never were before, and then people de-transition and regret mutilating their bodies. We now know hormones in the womb and in the environment and in the food affect people's sexuality. You can't hide behind 'born that way' as a solid excuse anymore. We know better now. Lots of people choose to be gay or trans or queer or whatever, and lots choose to go back to being 'normal' when they decide they're done with all the self harm and drama. There may be some few born-gay people as a small percent like a birth defect, but so much of this is just a social trend, a fad nowdays. People get tired of it and grow out of it when they're done being rebellious, and other people get groomed into it when they weren't born that way. Not all Christians are stodgy old newspaper-readers who don't know what's currently going on, so maybe you could update your talking points.

The description of homosexuality as a lifestyle is a blatent oversimplification of human sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular. Such indoctrination of the collective societal psyche is paramount to the self validating delusion of heterosexuality possessing moral validity. People do not choose to be homosexual any more than others choose to be heterosexual. And homosexuality does not make one immoral anymore than heterosexuality automatically makes some one moral. Whenever I hear a conversation or see a video about how a person can't be gay and Christian, my mind often goes to when the biblical Jews viewed anyone other than a Jew to be unclean and unfit to be one of God's accepted. I don't even think God is concerned with whether a person is a Christian or not. The title of Christian means far less than whether or not a person is keeping the commandments as Jesus told the man in Matthew 19:16-19.

@Lady Nada You have no idea what you are talking about. Have you even read the Bible? Obviously not!! God destroyed the city of Sodom because He could not find 10 righteous people there. If Abraham could not find 10 righteous people in Sodom, God told him that He would destroy the city (Genesis 18:16-33). Lot pleads with the men of Sodom to not have relations with his guests, the angels, because he offered them hospitality and were therefore ‘under protection of my roof’ (Genesis 19:8). The importance of treating guests with hospitality is the crucial point here. Lot shows greater concern for the safety of his guests than he does for his two daughters, and offers his daughters to be raped by all the men of Sodom (which proves they were not homosexual). Such was the high value placed on treating strangers with hospitality. See also Judges 19:16-25 where a concubine (secondary wife) is gang raped to death for the same reason. The sin of Sodom is described in Deuteronomy 29:20-26 as the forsaking of the covenant of the Lord and worshipping false gods. Ezekiel 16:48-50 states that the sins of sodomy were ‘arrogance’ and ‘not giving a helping hand to the poor and needy’ and these were the reasons for its destruction. Not homosexuality.

I'm not gay but I pray for these sons and daughters of God. In 2013, after 37 years of ministry to homosexuals, Exodus International, a Protestant organization whose mission was to "help" gay Christians become straight, shut down. I wondered back then at the mystery of this - for those who are genuinely born again understand the POWER OF THE TRUE HOLY SPIRIT to sanctify and overcome the powers of darkness. Thank you for Joe Dallas' honest testimony here. As a Roman Catholic, I wonder now whether the Christian homosexuals who backslid after their conversion needed that EXTRA GRACE AND POWER OF GOD to truly live victorious holy lives following their decision to ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. To find that grace you need a deeper dose of truth - and to truly connect with the historical Jesus in a world where there are so many religions (40,000 plus Protestant denominations) and versions of Christ (Counterfeit Christs, Matthew 24 - Jesus said, even the Elect can be deceived by them). The only way to find the true Jesus in the confusion of the modern world and conflicting voices of which version of Christianity is the right one - is you can find Him the way the world found Him at His first Advent - He came into the world through the Blessed Virgin Mary. People can find Him still through His Mother. The only Church which gives His Mother to the world is the Catholic Church. Thank you!
