Thank you for watching our reaction to this legendary Erykah Badu song, "Didn't Cha Know" from her classic album, Mama's Gun. This is one of my favourite songs from the 2000s (although I sort of think of it as from the 90s in my head). Produced by one of the greatest producers of all time, J Dilla, this song is truly a heavenly experience of divine, existential optimism. Although there are so many brilliant elements to this record, some of my favourite aspects. Really glad my dad was blown away by this track.

This is healing to watch as a black man! I have watched almost every episode in less than 12 hours. Black culture is not passed down through wealth it’s passed down through Art all be it music, food, or clothes. This is how we bridge the gap this channel needs to be on TV. PLEASE KEEP GOING THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU KNOW!!!!

Your Dad will absolutely lose his mind when he hears Ye-yo on her live album. She was pregnant and having pains onstage. You could feel the emotions and pain in her voice. Erykah Badu won the Ella Fitzgerald Award a few years back... There's a KZbin video of the award, and Erykah talks about how she has always looked at and used her voice like an actual instrument. Just found this channel and I love it. I lost my dad 4 months ago. One of my favorite traits I got from him (and my mom) was the ability to appreciate ALL genres and eras of music. I know their music their music almost as well as they do, LOL. Seeing this dad be so open to and appreciative of the music I've grown up with makes me smile and takes me out of my grief for a bit. Keep up the good work!

This song has influenced my spirit beyond words and taught me the valuable lesson of following my heart and knowing that sometimes we make bad choices but it’s not the end all be all…. it’s j’s beat, eryakah’s voice and words/lesson. i am forever grateful that this song was created 💗

I really like how these two appreciate this song as much as I do, “exquisite” and “brilliant” are amazing ways of putting it like y’all have. Facts. I was tripping when he said Dilla produced it, I never knew that. Makes more sense now as to why this was always my favorite track on Mama's Gun (Clevah is a close second) and my favorite track of hers period. Baduism is one of the best albums of all time of any genre and I play it so much that sometimes I have to let Baduism rest and give all her other albums a play.

That song is everything. Haunting with a deep meaning. Erykah Badu has a deep knowledge of ancient Egypt spirituality, fully visible in the video of this song (beetle, life symbol etc...). Loved you dad's reaction! FYI, the intro is a sample from a band called Tarika Blue "Dreamflower". Stunning piece.

You both seem like genuine decent people too, keep it going guys I’ve only just discovered this channel and watched all your videos. I love the rap reactions the most as I wish I could do this with my own dad and have him appreciate some of the gems there are in the genre. As he was mainly rock and rubbished all the rap I loved growing up in the 90’s and 2000’s. So is great to see your dad loving some of them.
