Yes, great song! The singer is Anneke van Giersbergen. Before the amazing Floor Jansen, before Tarja Turunen, before all these other great female singers in symphonic metal bands today, before Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation, Battle Beast, etc. there already was Anneke van Giersbergen. (Back in 1994/1995 still singing with her old band The Gathering.) Note: This year marks Anneke’s 25th anniversary as a recording artist. Anneke was (and still is) unique as a ‘metal singer’. The female vocalist is Anekee, she is just a guest star for this song. their male singer Tomi, is incredible with both clean and growling. to be honest he is one of the best growlers in my opinion. This song is on the softer side, but i do believe you would enjoy some of their other songs aswell. try songs like "The Bee" "Under the red cloud" "Bad Blood" "Come the spring" Great reaction! keep up the good work :D ps. the best way you can thank your loyal subscribers, is to keep on posting great reactions :)

Anneke Van Giersbergen is just a guest vocalist on this one. Though she is currently touring as an opener with Amorphis and is singing this one live with them. Also yes check out her work with Devin Townsend. Numbered (live version) is a good one.

@@KayandJay Her band, VUUR (Fire in Dutch) are fantastic. Also, I'd like to request another progressive rock band - Anathema. They're from Liverpool in England. They started off as Death Metal, but moved away from it over the years. I'd like you to react to "Untouchable" (live in Bulgaria). They're backed by a full orchestra in an open air amphitheatre. It's a really intense song, so jave Kleenex handy! 😭

Amorphis is one of my new favorite bands but there is no female singer in the band. The female singer in this song is Anneke van Giersbergen, the former singer of The Gathering(gothic metal/progressive rock). They were one of my most favorite female fronted metal bands along with Tristania and Theater of Tradgedy, all with different singers now but not as good. That was way back when Nightwish still had Tarja. Anneke has done lots of side projects, including some solo pop stuff, and does a lot of collaborations with Devin Townsend. You should check out one of his songs with her. My favorite one is Higher.

Well, I can't be sure about the video, but somehow I got the idea that the song says you should bravely go into the beyond when death comes for you instead of fighting it tooth and nail. The zombified people having a smoke together kind of don't look like a good way to spend the rest of your "life", even if it is together with someone you used to love. Eventually you will hate them for trapping you in such a dismal existence.

If you ever go to react on their song "The Bee" just do a little research and read about the song's story before. The song is awesome and knowing the backstory will make it great! Scandinavian mythology. Like most of their songs. nice done.
