I went over and watched the full episode, I don't understand how somebody so spoiled is so thoughtful of her parents. He obviously spoils her rotten and yet she is not spoiled at all
@CaraStrong138 ай бұрын
It’s kinda weird how things just naturally play out sometimes. My siblings and I were so spoiled growing up and honestly still are. But I’d rather live in a box than ask my dad for a dime and I’m beyond appreciative for everything he chooses to do for me. It’s never enough for my sister. She begs him to buy her this or buy her that. Please give her some money. Pay this bill. Fill her car up. Order her this. And she doesn’t feel an inkling of guilt about it. She thinks as her parent he should do those things for her. I guess it’s the difference between someone that thinks the world owes them and someone that thinks nobody owes them anything at all.
@katiegriffin75977 ай бұрын
My parents always said, “you can be spoiled but not rotten.” Aka, they wanted to give me everything but not at the expense of teaching me values and being a good person. I wasn’t given things to shut me up and keep me out of their hair but rather because they loved me and wanted me to be happy. I think that makes a huge difference.
@abba92655 ай бұрын
I think it’s a matter of teaching value. I was raised “spoiled” but I was also taught to be appreciative of the gifts or services I received. I understood the value of time and money early and tried to ask for as little as possible
@isabellind12925 ай бұрын
@@katiegriffin7597 There's a difference between being spoiled and being given things and being grateful for it as is the case in this thread. It breaks my heart to read the comment from the sister who does appreciate what her parents have done for her while her sister takes advantage of their parents. It also breaks my heart when I hear adult children say their parents owe them an inheritance. Parents do not owe their adult children a darn thing! If I told my parents I was entitled to an inheritance I wouldn't blame them one bit if they spent every last penny before they died. I'd have it coming! My sister and & I weren't spoiled and we appreciated every thing our parents ever did for us. I think it helps to have good role models who aren't preoccupied w/material things and over-spending. I see lovely people in the comments in this thread and on this series. I think the majority are on the same page when it comes to being a loving, caring and empathetic human being towards others. I wish you all the very best and to the sister w/the spoiled sister, you will go through life w/a clear conscience because you are grateful for what you've been given. That is an admirable quality.💓🌺💓

@CaraStrong13 It is funny how people turn out. I have a lot of siblings, and we were never spoiled by our parents or grandparents. We would look through the toy catalogs just to look and dream, but we rarely got any of them. It was a good life, though, as we learned to make do and even stretch a budget. Most of my siblings are some of the sweetest, most giving people you could ever meet, however, I have one sister who is a real taker. She comes across as generous on the first or second meeting, but then wants everyone to do for her and help her with her life even though she is the one who puts herself in her messes. Several of us have called her out on her bull so she mostly leaves us alone now.

IMO she's uncomfortable with, how much the gown is! I realize, that she said, "she's an obnoxious person". However on the contrary, she's thoughtful & considerate of her parents. I think the hype over the wedding is silly and just another way for businesses to make money. I hope later they can talk and he can convey that to her. It's not about the money. He can afford it. She is not placing a hardship on him. He just wants her to feel like the most beautiful person alive on her special day. And this is one of those specialmoments where he, as her dad, gets to spoil her a little. For my 2nd wedding my mom found one for me at an antiques store in my size (which is rare as I was a size 18 then) She bought it and never told me how much it was. A few years after she died my dad was cleaning out some receipts and came across the ones for my dress and it was only $99! The dress was so beautiful that I thought it cost thousands! I think she was embarrassed to tell me how much it was as my first was so expensive. I loved her even more for it! I loved the dress! Unfortunately, we lost my dress in a house fire about 13 years ago.
