"Infinite" holds a special place in Eminem's discography as it marks his earliest foray into the music industry. The song was released in 1996 as the title track of Eminem's debut studio album, also titled "Infinite." At the time, Eminem, then known as Marshall Mathers, was an aspiring rapper struggling to gain recognition in Detroit's underground hip-hop scene.
"Infinite" showcased Eminem's lyrical prowess, complex rhyme schemes, and introspective storytelling. The track features a jazzy, laid-back beat produced by Mr. Porter, which served as a backdrop for Eminem's introspective verses.
Despite its critical acclaim, "Infinite" failed to achieve commercial success upon its release. Eminem's unique style and lyrical content didn't resonate with mainstream audiences at the time, and the album received limited attention outside of Detroit's underground hip-hop circles.
However, "Infinite" laid the groundwork for Eminem's future success. The album caught the attention of Dr. Dre, who was impressed by Eminem's talent and signed him to his record label, Aftermath Entertainment, in 1998. This partnership led to the release of Eminem's breakthrough album, "The Slim Shady LP," in 1999, which catapulted him to mainstream fame and established him as one of the most influential rappers of his generation.

The 'Imitator intimidator, stimulator, simulator of data, eliminator' makes perfect sense and isn't pointless rhyming. He's saying he intimidates people that imitate rap styles, stimulates people with his songs and I always took the simulator of data to mean he's capable of taking in all forms of rap and simulating it into his own. Eliminator is straight forward, elimates other rappers.
@ClifffSVK
@ClifffSVK 3 ай бұрын
He's saying he intimidates people that try to imitate HIM. Plus I think there shouldn't be a comma in "simulator of data eliminator" and it basically means the same thing as the first two words. Biting was a huge theme for Eminem at the time. He talks about it in multiple songs on the album and he even had a whole song about it earlier - Biterphobia. It's ironic that Em was accused of biting other rappers on this album.

I’m not gonna say you’re reaching, because words do got definitions, but even if he put in that thought and meant it, it’s still incoherent
@allbies
@allbies 2 ай бұрын
It's far more likely he did it on purpose than threw random rhyming words together that happen to make sense when you just apply their definitions. I'm used to oldschool rap that does that stuff so it's not incoherent to me.@@ninjireal

You should listen to the original Infinite, but you can't find it on Spotify. This was a remix of the original Infinite track. The whole album 'Infinite' (That you can find on KZbin) is great, especially 'Open mic', 'Tonite' and 'Its OK'. The original Infinite track is way deeper and spacey so give it a listen.

When I was a 10 year old little white kid ('96-97), living in N Az, I somehow acquired a burnt CD of this album. No idea if it was an original or a copy... But I still have it, something of a prized posession. Was already a hip hop head at heart, but this album and Em, absolutely solidified its being a core part of my upbringing. Hope you can find the original versions.
