Hunger On Hillside is an example of how to perfectly end an album
@insaneheat299411 ай бұрын
Facts. I love that joint
@JaydenLand6 ай бұрын
It's really not. Of course, you're welcome to your own opinion... but I truly feel that Hunger on Hillside is *OBJECTIVELY* not "one of Cole's best songs." It's not even top 3-5 on the album, so it's already *virtually* out of the realm of Cole's best songs. As for "perfect" outros to an album, like @frozenpizzaking is implying... it's really not even that... "4 Your Eyez Only" and "Love Yourz" are MUCH closer to perfect album endings in Cole's discography, alone... (as to not even have to bring up examples of *TRULY* perfect album outros.) Just because a song is good and you like it, doesn't mean that it's the "best" in any regard.

I love how Cole reminds you of Nas, what you might not know is that Cole's idol throughout his career has been Nas. Back in the day when Cole was coming up as a rapper, he was often compared as the new Nas due to him being more lyrical and speaking about some true shit. Later he made a song that was more radio playable called "Work out" which Nas had commented on he didn't like and was dissapointed, which led Cole to later make a song on his "Born Sinner" album called "Let Nas Down" which is another banger and a half. If you ever listen to the album (please do), please listen to the Remix version tho where Nas himself hops on and explains his viewpoint on the comment and the whole Rap game.

The Climb Back is easily a top 5 Cole song People hear it and initially focus on the incredible flow and amazing lyricism (which I do, personally, believe that verse 2 is one of Cole's greatest verses) but a lot of people miss that the beat is actively meant to sound like it's climbing up, falling, and climbing back up... And Cole, throughout most of the song, has his flow and LYRICS directly reflect the "climbs" and "falls" of the instrumental.
