Maaaaan, Lucid Dreams brings me back to such a specific place in time. I remember I was around 19/20 years old living in a basement suite in Burke Mountain (about an hour or so outside of Vancouver for people that don't live here). I'd just sit outside drinking at night with headphones at full blast, looking at the trees and the stars completely lost in my head. Something about Juice, Peep, and X was so comforting and relatable at that time. Can't believe all three of them are gone now. Rest in peace, gone way too soon.

3000+ songs, most are freestyled, does many different kinds of songs/genres, hundreds are bangers, literally hundreds. one of the best freestylers in the world, for me hes my favorite freestyler since his freestyles sound like songs with the melodies and different flows, and only had just turned 21, so it was almost like he was 20 years old since he passed so soon after his birthday. when you put those feats with his age, its hard to not state that he had the most potential and we will probably not see anything like this for a long time.

My personal experience as a now 23 year old. I found his music when I was 18, it really resonated me and got me into modern rap. His music was so special to me because I hadn't heard someone who was just so vocal and honest about his struggles and I did relate a lot. Juice had ADHD, funny because this year I found out a lot of my issues and struggles with depression and addiction were stemming from me having undiagnosed ADHD. That mental state of doing the same stupid things you know are not good for you but just repeating them over and over and over for years... that does something to your brain man, I still feel like I am not good enough for anyone or anything, I have felt that way my whole life. Juice really gave off that feeling to me, that fear of failure and repeating the same mistakes even when you want to change so badly. His music helped me when I was upset over the years. I thought "Finally... someone that understands." because every time I tried to call out for help for my now obviously looking back, ADHD symptoms... I was rejected. "You're just being lazy, you need to try harder, you aren't even trying, come on what is wrong with you?" I head these statements my whole life up to this year, especially as a young child. It broke me. Made me feel like, even as a young child, I am not good enough. I was told to try harder when I was trying as hard as I possibly could for years and I fear that I will never recover as that was my whole childhood and was ingrained into my brain as my base mentality. Juice made me feel like I wasn't broken, just damaged.

This album is so bittersweet. On one hand, you have a lot of great songs with catchy melodies that are produced extremely well. However given the context of what happened later on in his life, it does really hurt to hear the real struggles he was dealing with. I still listen to this album often as it really helped me a lot through high school when it first came out, and I will continue to love this album for many years to come. It just is really sad to think he could've done so much more especially with his early material being so strong. RIP Juice
