Im not saying that we should disregard their opinions, but what I am saying is that critics pick apart each aspect of a project including the lyrics, beats, flow, just everything and anything you could think of while reactors just listen to it and judge based off what their ears are telling them. Not a problem with that, but it explains why critics aren’t as favorable to the music.

@peculiar352910 ай бұрын
Kanye’s music has Gotten progressively more abstract in themes and story telling, now he focuses on telling a story with the music rather than words. Starting with Yeezus, he began avoiding direct storytelling; he has songs that seem like they discuss something completely different from the songs before it, but if you listen to the production, small samples, and ordering of songs, you can piece together a story, and even that pieced together story isn’t just straightforward with one meaning; he makes it very open to interpretation with the story seemingly about his love for a woman and conflict within that, but it’s also the clear the woman could be analogous for multiple things. TLOP is the same most of the story is told by the sound of the production and how the lyrics contrast that production; he hardly ever addresses the theme/story directly himself. Vultures trilogy seems like it will be similarly vague with its story, but I definitely think there is a story here. Having the hell of a life sample (a moment that marked a dark, hedonistic rejection of his previous introspection) right before a wild aggressive offensive verse that is cut off before he could continue his manic sounding rant, then following this with beg forgiveness leaves this with so much room for interpretation; Could the cut off represent the people silencing his speech, or cutting himself out of context before he could elaborate, or just him catching/stopping himself spazzing. Then beg forgiveness: is he begging forgiveness? is telling someone else to beg? what for? To whom is he begging?

Paid when it was played at the Miami listening party two months ago was one of the standout tracks. It started out with an a cappella intro that’s been cut short here and that was a really cool misdirection originally so you had no idea that you were about to get this kind of track once the instrumental dropped in. Ty Dolla $ign verse came first , Setting the tone that this was going to be a “stripper song “and then when you had Kanye come in with his funny high-pitched verse, he was referencing Roxanne, which is a similar theme and basically just doing something really sonically different with his voice and just kind of breaking up the monotony of the whole thing and then, as soon as his verse ended, the beat pick back up again, and that energy started, got dumped back into the instrumentals. By the time this song made it to the album, Those few subtle tweaks really just the delivery of it all. I think people are confused by Kanye. I think the song just feels more flat by not having the a cappella vocal intro.

Don't get me wrong Vultures 1 is a good album considering on high the standards is for Kanye himself for the reputation he holds. As they said in the video the later half of the album is really good with a lot of meaning to it and in my point of view, the first half is where kanye just expresses his freedom messing around and just delivering mainstream music whereas in the latter part in the album where it tends to get personal to Kanye addressing the issues and whatnot has been going around in his life and in tracks like "burn" where we got to see some of that "old Kanye". Overall solid album and pretty excited to see what he has in store for Volumes 2 & 3 .

#1 co-op album globally & having artists feature that are mainly know by American & Canadian fans helps those unfamiliar to the rest of the wrld artists get more light. I still listen to 070 Shake to this day cause of Ye.

Talking - the "you don't want no problems" is a sample of a cheerleader for Wilkes Barr high school. the "talking" sample is James Blake

When Kanye did the high pitch voice in Paid, it instantly reminds me when he was on the Alex Jones interview introducing Net and Yahoo and doing the voice. Anyone else?
