I think the “wait until you’re 18” line is a smart move, because it’s typically in the years leading up to that age where people start truly recognizing people, including family, for who they are. They start seeing the cracks and form their own opinions about people, again, including family. Plus, the other stuff is just way too adult to talk about with a younger child/children. You still want to maintain that innocence, even if the kid is making their own discoveries and opinions about the family. I say this with personal experience, especially since my own father is extremely similar.

I keep saying the #1 chess move in this entire beef and maybe in rap beef history is Kendrick releasing Meet the Grahams not even 30 minutes after the release of Drake’s Family Matters . Most people besides Drake stans are going for Kendrick in this beef but most unbiased spectators could admit Push Ups was a solid response and Family Matters was even better, maybe the best response to any beef Drake ever had .. but I think the main reason that’s not the perception is because Kendrick didn’t give that track a week or even a day to breathe and be remembered as a W for Drake because he overshadowed it immediately. And some people call Not Like Us overkill but I think it’s just the necessary Killshot to make a bop with replay value for the mainstream type of hip hop fan who thinks Drake is better because his songs are more catchy.
@austinthesan-antonian39325 ай бұрын
And also Kendrick's storytelling job with the like that verse plus the four tracks was fantastic. You can fit the hero's journey onto that shit bro 😭 With mtg he decapitated the dragon and then in nlu he paraded its head around to the whole hometown. But yeah the timing was amazing. MTG dropping so quickly was ominous before even analyzing the cover or reading the title or hearing the beat or hearing the lyrics or running it back or checking genius. You just knew that Drake had CROSSED. A. LINE.
