okay so basically yes you’re kinda right, first thing is when you become a leader you get a hit squad, like people under you, they have to follow you’re guidance, but if you need them they’ll be there.. people always wanna take the leaders down.. it’s why they get a hit squad, typically those hit squads are members of your gang that you hand pick to be a part of the squad. anyways, only leaders have a hitsquad.. and you can have people under you but not reach the hitsquad status yet.. von was somewhere in the higher ranking but not at hitsquad status. he had respect.. and was third in line to be leader.. as in there was one person ahead of him to be leader, then there was the actual leader… now the way the leaders change is simple.. either the current leader dies.. or someone with an even higher rank.. like one of the oldheads can demote the leader if the job isn’t being done correctly, or the leader can step down themselves but that comes with a penalty in some cases.. and typically you aren’t allowed to step down from leader and then still be a member.. if you give your position away they normally kick you out of the gang completely.. anyways.. you guys remember he talked about o in the song.. everyone knows o is for odee perry, he was the leader at the time of his death, rival gangs always go for the leaders to sort of send a message.. and it typically gets the gang they’re fighting against to back down.. because they just lost there leader.. operating without one is hard.. when odee died that left jr in charge.. i said von was third in line.. odee had been leader.. behind him was jr.. and under jr was dayvon.. which meant vons position changed while he was in jail, instead of two people above him it was only one.. so THEN when von called sherod bc he saw the news and someone didn’t make it.. and sherod said it’s our boy jr.. guess what that meant for dayvon when he got out.. von hadn’t realized it yet.. he was still coping with the losses.. when he was locked up he lost two people.. gds were going for every leader they could.. it’s also nearly impossible to lead a gang from a jail cell.. all you can do is give out orders.. you have to have someone on the outside in charge.. that’s what duke did.. i’m guessing.. that’s why when von was on house arrest and he called him von got told he was what’s new.. because he was the new leader.. now hitsquads come w that remember.. that’s where getbackgang comes from.. it has two names.. getbackgang and otf.. von confirmed that they’re the same thing, otf is more like wicc city’s whole set while getbackgang is more like a specific hitsquad of vons best soldiers (gleesh, muwop, cmurda, and others), but those boys he took w him out of the hood they were like his protection. and i think he lead his people well.. he ran things until he passed away, but before he moved out of chiraq he made get back gang, which was formed to get revenge for his homies that so happened to pass while he was locked up.. him and his crew went around catching bodies on bodies for everyone that passed. as the kids say they stood on business, but then von got locked up again.. he didn’t get out until 2018, that’s when he started rapping, he realized that he already got revenge for his people & if he kept killing it wouldn’t be for them anymore it would be continuing the cycle.. what i mean by that is the people he’d had beef with were family members & friends of the people he killed.. he had no reason to hate them or need them gone.. he already served his purpose with them, it’s a cycle.. you kill sb then you gotta beef w everyone they were cool with then the people they were cool with kill sb else of yours so you get one of there’s.. and it js never ends.. von wanted to get to the money and durk put him on..
