The theory is that After Hours, Dawn FM, and whatever the next album is is a trilogy that parallels the story of The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. After hours being Dante’s Inferno, Dawn FM being Purgatorio, and the next album (after life?) Paradisio. After hours is his comparison for his sins and hell which is why is it takes place in Vegas (sin city). Most of After hours are about the things that make him an evil person, with the last song explaining he wants to bleed those things from his life. Dawn FM is purgatory. A lot of the videos he is being chased by this older version of himself. That pairs well with the story from Quincy explaining how the negative things from his youth continued to curse him throughout his life until he was willing to come to terms with it. The older version of The Weeknd seems to be trying to warn the younger version of himself of the danger of repeating bad decisions and not growing into a better version of himself. A lot like being stuck in purgatory. In the divine comedy you are doomed or sentenced to repeat or mimic your sins until you can be forgiven for them and let into heaven. Again notice how this album end and begins with the birds as well as gym Carey’s narration explaining how the change to be good comes from within and be light. Idk. This is my theory. Hoping to see how the third act goes.

Out of Time is based on a sample, but it might not be one your dad's familiar with: the song is "Midnight Pretenders" by a Japanese singer named Tomoko Aran. City Pop (the genre that song sits in) had a bubbling-under moment, and I guess Abel figured it might be interesting to try his hand at it through a sample.

dawn FM(2022) is the 2nd album of a new trilogy that's he has been creating, After Hours(2020) being the 1st album and the 3rd rumored to be called After Life( not confirmed by Abel) At the end of After Hours, the carecter died and the story picks up in dawn FM & it's sets in purgatory, playing in a endless loop until the caracter let go his regrets and that's why he is old in the cover.
