Max, I WAS going to say my '74 was better before I watched the whole video. I stand corrected. Mine was a '74 SE Brougham I purchased while in college. Same blue, same white interior, same 440 Magnum, but that's where it ends. Mine was an auto, not the beloved 4-speed. How I bought it is a story in itself. My job was minimum wage at the dealership. The owner loved me. I was able to get my first car loan at age 21 with essentially no full-time job and no money. I paid 12 months payments from my 3 months of working, went back to school, and repeated the process for another year until I graduated. Upon graduation, I traded it for my special ordered '76 Cordoba as a first career job celebration for myself. I wish I had both of those cars today! I fully believe Gilles and I could spend many hours sharing Mopar love stories. Some of mine might not be suitable for publishing. 😉😊 ...I've never heard of a guy having a bromance with his father-in-law! Does it make her jealous? 🤣
@SubdivisionAuto4 ай бұрын
JD thats so funny you had a 440 car AND a Cordodba as well.. you and Gilles would INDEED get along (probably why I get along so well with both of you). Man what a time to be alive to buy a car fully in 12 month payments in 3 months work! Sounds fair doesnt it? its nice to see old cars appreciated but at the same time collectors ruined it for us average people. they were normal people cars new and now they are a pipe dream to have on a blue collar income.
@SubdivisionAuto3 ай бұрын
Yup. Im not a fan of collectors who just hoard cars for the sake of having them. This owner is differnt he saves the cars which are usually in bad shape and he's easily one of the best in the business. Really talented hard working guy deserves every car he has in that garage :) But yeah hard to get a classic for most people these days other than buying a beatup one and restoring it (which is what I am doing)

@@SubdivisionAuto well....... umm....... huh, does he want a 71 Dart swinger or a 74 charger, as I kinda, found a source, awhile back actually, I can send you the sellers info in an email, its an ebay store that I've been keeping an eye on as I've often thought of buying from them, sometimes their project cars, or a little rough, other times their damn near mint and I think its where Ratarossa found that ferrari 308 I liked so much that came from miami

@@SubdivisionAuto I agree it is crazy how expensive old cars go and keep going for, but hey Idk about 150k tho maybe if for having over 150k in it if that's the case but usually more like 5-80k for just the car in it's used in original factory state condition and 80k is for a high end Charger from '72 in original factory state unused still in mint condition, prolly my fav gen Chargers they just needed more Standard Chargers I really don't like automatics

@@coincollectorchase I agree with most cars just becuase this one is a U code car and only 20 some got here that's why. I also agree about the automatics not being great they're okay but this gen matched with standard is great. also that sound of the trans adds to the experience

Very beautiful, moving and touching tribute to Gilles and heart warming story as well. The 2nd owner did one hell of a job on the restoring and restoration of that one ☝️ of a kind magnificent, spectacular, splendrous and wondrous ride and to take the man out for a ride and spin in it right before he went on home to glory in that great mansion that’s prepared for us all in the sky when time comes. I am not your average typical African American 🇺🇸 Male I appreciate and admire love❤️💕💗 and respect🫡✊🏾 very heart and warm stories and videos like 👍🏾 this one1️⃣☝️.
