He was once dubbed R&B Jesus, and the king of neosoul. I'd recommend you check out Lady, Brown Sugar, Untitled, Me and Those Dreamin Eyes of Mine, Really Love, and One Mo Gin. Your dad may also appreciate D'Angelo's great covers of old songs like Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin", and Roberta Flack's "Feel Like Makin Love".
