I get what you mean, but you just have to go a bit under the surface to find the really good current acts. They're not promoted like they might've been in the 90s, but good new music still exists. Then you've also got 90s bands making come backs with new music as well. (Failure and Stabbing Westward come to mind, but I'm sure there are plenty of them.) The teens/twenties are really good for lofi "bedroom pop" and you've got some cool groovy new funk stuff from Men I Trust... I don't know, there's a lot. That said, I've been dipping back into Nirvana, Weezer (I'm a first two albums + b-sides snob), Smashing Pumpkins, Failure, and my guilty pleasure Stabbing Westward a lot more than current music lately. And don't get me started on 80s music. Also really good, but more into the pop and new wave than metal/rock of that era... though I do love some metal once in awhile heh. (I'm 38.) I know my initial point was to say that there is still good current music, but if you haven't, listen to Failure's Fantastic Planet (1996) all the way through a few times. Life changing lol.

Creep was very different in the music going on that year. It set Radiohead's course for at least the next two albums. The combination of sensitive vocal, influenced by Jeff Buckley, with heavily distorted, heavy metalesque guitar to emphasise the extreme emotions of the whatever the lyrics are about, is very powerful. They weren't the first to do alternating loud-quiet and tempo changes, which the Pixies are famous for, but they were the first British band to hitch it to really emotional story-telling, and not just being a Seattle grunge copycat band.

I remember being a young teen in the early 90s. There were oldie radio stations. What was considered an oldie was hits from the 60s. They sounded cool. And they were hits from 30 years ago. Back then, 30 years ago seemed like an eternity ago. It was a time that I weren't even born nor existed. Now I"m in my mid forties and the 90s music are still very much cool to me. And it didn't seem so long ago, but it's 30 years ago. 90s music are considered oldies now.

Full album reaction of Radiohead's "OK Computer" when? LOL. I'm sure you know your dad would love it! I'd also love to hear his thoughts on The Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Bush, NIN and other staples of the 90s... keep up the great work y'all.

Thanks for having me slow down and smell the roses on this one, it's cool to get a sense of why it's so popular. Try these! - [Camp Lo - Luchini AKA This Is It ] also this would be a great jazzy hip hop 4-way comparison because they're similarly chill: Digable Planets; The Pharcyde; Souls of Mischief; Camp Lo, they're jazzy af.

It was because Thom Yorke the singer was seriously attracted to this girl. And she didn’t reciprocate so he turned it inwards feeling he had to be more special. I saw them in little gigs in the early 90’s in London and 6-7 times through to their stadium concerts. Utterly amazing talent in this band and different!! Alternative and avant garde
