After my divorce, my three kids hated every poor guy I ever invited over for dinner. He was too fat, too skinny, too bald, too ugly, too dumb, too short, always too something. I learned to have them over when all the kids were out for the day or evening. They were the worst as teenagers.

Even at 40, Few things about having divorced parents piss me off more than whenever my dad wants me to meet his significant other of the moment and then acts like I’M the one with the problem for not rolling with it instead of treating it like the dysfunctional, traumatic bullshit that it is. I don’t begrudge him his relationships, but I resent his sense of entitlement to have me involved in them in any capacity. If he just kept his special friends a secret from me, we wouldn’t have an issue.

James Parr my step mom is born again christian stripper my dad met during the seperation process. Me and my mom moved out of his house and 1000 miles back to CT I was only 6 months old and before the divorce was finally he was already fucking her...he paid child support twice despite making almost 200,000 dollars a year working for the stock market before the crash, and instead built my step mom her dream house with a volley ball court, pool, and barn with horses and cows. My mom left her job teaching to be with him they both had grown up in CT and she was jobless living with my grandparents until my papa built us our own house on part of the land ownned my my great grandfather. My step mom brought 9 kids into the relationship with my dad...but wont accept her only daughter my half sister for being gay. She kicked her out, lifted a restraining order against her father and sent her to live with him. My step mom is satan. And she can rot in hell for all I care. But even im civil to her when I see her. Which thank sweet fuck isnt often because Im old enough to take her down now.

It's hard and you have to accept that people experience their emotions differently. Especially with someone who's doing the most to ingratiate themselves when you aren't ready. Yes, it sucks but like...calm down you just showed up and changed their lives shit like that isn't easy to handle. I say this as a step-parent and a divorcee and having seen it from both my own lense and the kids' as well . Step parents know exactly what they're getting into.

That's ridiculous 😂. Maybe just have the respect for someone and their family enough to allow their kids to have feelings. If you do things right, they warm up to you and it really only takes the ability to be understanding. I'm a step parent but those are my kids through and through because I gave them time. Y'all really so impatient that you think that jumping ship because someone is divorced and has kids and never dating someone like that again is the best option? LMFAO maybe the issue could be your respect level towards what the kids are going through, or your unwillingness to just let things take their time? Or you picked a shitty person that time around, got nothing to do with them having kids or being divorced. Like how dumb do you have to be to lump all divorced people with kids into one category?

If you think about whats actually going on rather than the story they're telling it becomes much happier. Theyre just coworkers getting along and having a good time playing out a ridiculous situation. This is at worst good natured ribbing between coworkers in assigning the roles and at best an opportunity for these actors to show their talent to the world among the ranks of some of the best :)
