@jessicaarmstrong5035Ай бұрын
Me too. She tried to argue that saying that she didn't think she needed to because her ex allowed her to take her child for a week without a drug test. There could've been any number of reasons for that. When the court tells you to take a drug test, you take a drug test. 6 months out of many years as an addict isn't as much as you'd think. Because the minute she gets stressed she could relapse. As a parent, she should want to cooperate to prove to the courts that she can do this and be a good parent. She should do it for the sake of her child. I'm surprised they didn't order therapy though. Going cold turkey is next to impossible. And it's clear the only reason she's clean is because of her parents making her. If she messes up it means she loses her kids forever. If the kids were given to her without supervision, she could end up relapsing.

Fathers are wallets to friends of the court. This specific judge is heinous toward fathers., but this mother's behavior and history are too much for her to overcome with her bias. Hopefully, Dad will return in 6 months and force Friends of the Court to open and pursue a child support case against her.

At 6 months, I don’t think I was even at the point of calling myself clean, I would say I was working my recovery, but there were roads I couldn’t drive down, seeing certain people even from a distance, hell even some specific music, that would trigger an itch that would take everything I had in my power to fight.

@jalcobo This is true. I was specifically referring to current drug addicts who always say this to avoid accountability for their actions against someone. If they get clean I think it depends on how long, and whether they have now taken accountability for those past actions. You have to right your wrongs with someone before you can expect a new beginning with them. Otherwise the past remains in the present until you do. If they've made appropriate amends I do agree that it is not fair to hold the past against them. Additionally, their strength in staying clean should be admired.

Where is the proof of her moving forward in life like stable employment, attending NA, etc. They should drug test her. There needs to be actions shown for her changing her life for the positive. Her attitude totally sucks during this hearing. Actions speak louder than words. I've been through addiction myself. Been clean & sober for 10 years now. Being tested every quarter she could be using drugs for weeks and then four weeks before she takes the drug test so that’s absolutely ridiculous. That ruling makes zero sense. IMO Mom's not a liar, but man she's minimizes like an addict. She's never been in jail for a long time, only 2 months. Wtf 2 hours would break me.

Rather it's family or the law asking for a DT, If you're really clean then taking a drug test shouldn't be a problem. As a recovering addict myself i know that i broke the trust of those around me and that i had to earn that back. Anytime i was asked i took the test with no problem cause when you act a fool about it it makes people question you. Get your life together lady.
