One of the 10 Linux gamers here. Valve has actually been doing a good job at contributing to the Linux platform over the last couple of years. The work they are putting into developing Proton does also find it's way back into Wine, which is not an emulator btw, and into the Kernel itself. The biggest hurdles at this moment are DRM and anti-cheat solutions though.

The thing that ruined the original Skyward Sword was that FI was interrupting gameplay before every single objective and puzzle pointing out the obvious solution, in that Wii-era "family friendly" way. It was Navi on crack.

Congrats to Ves for his Seamus McNally Grand Prize win at the IGF! I was surprised they didn't mention it on the pod; probably recorded right before that was announced. As much as he'd probably dismiss the pomp and circumstance, I'd love to hear them talk about the selection process - it's got to be the most outwardly ""political"" winner since 2013's Cart Life.

Matt, have you tried Rabi-Ribi? It does have a bunch tropey anime stuff in it that might make it unappealing, but it's such a solid metroidvania. I highly recommend it.

I just have to disagree about Horizon Zero Dawn being worse on harder difficulties. With harder difficulties you have to always aim for weak spots, disassemble certain robot parts to disable stronger enemy attacks and use elemental damage to weaken your their defense. A lot of enemies die quickly if you start using your whole arsenal, you're not meant to only use your bow, you have to use your whole arsenal
