This is a short little movie I made about my dad restoring his 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster. The whole process from start to finish took him about three years.

Thank you so much for filming and sharing such a beautiful project for Dad and family. You have all blessed us with a lovely historical review and to show human perseverance and restoration artform. We enjoyed the piano music while fitting the upholstery as well. The detail paint in red and the simulated wood grain was wonderful. Thank You so much. Dennis in Virginia, US

@@DennisMurphey Thank you! My sister was playing the piano, she was excited someone noticed her as she wasn't in the video really haha :) The restoration process is so long and sometimes I didn't understand how he can continue to work on it while it seems like it's never gonna end, and after a while bam! the car's done! So the perseverance is all my dad's :)

I'm 71 and the first car I owned was a 1948 Chevrolet. It seemed like a very old car back then and that was more than 50 years ago! When I look at these pictures the thing that surprises me most is, this was GM's lowest price car at the time yet it seems much better built, with nicer appointments and luxury touches than today's low priced cars that are made out of gray plastic. Your father seems to have enjoyed putting this beautiful car back in commission, I hope your whole family enjoys some nice rides and family outings with it.

Gotta give props to the bro. Shows what u can achieve in a lifetime as this cat can cover all disciplines required to do restoration. Even foose farms out his upholstery but i dare say if he had time he'd figure it out. Imagine if we had 1000 years + how many dreams we could knock out. Props brother props!!!!

Just such a heart warming project and family. No shouting or screaming, just working from the heart. When I saw the upholstery tag labeled Danville Illinois i smiled. I grew up in Illinois not far from Danville. I also owned a 47 Chevy Coupe, that was in 1965, I was 15. But i installed a 1857 Oldsmobile V8 engine, 4 speed Auto and rear end. Big mistake. I had never build an engine before. It ran very strong for 3 miles then blew up and a rob came out the oil pan. My father forbid me to work on it anymore. He was afraid i would hurt myself and spend all my money on it. Today I would love the have another chance to follow your Dads methods to restore not Hot Rod. Great video, thank you for sharing, great DAD!!!!!! Dennis

Wow. Usually I fast forward through a lot of these videos but I was riveted to this video the commitment that that man had to that wire grinding wheel was just it was awesome. And the work that you both put in and the fact that Mom did not freak out when Dad was working on the car inside the house there's love there too. Awesome finishing. This video gets an a plus plus plus plus

What a magnificent beast of a car! What an amazing man who can do this kind of work! What attention to detail! All you kids out there might want to look at a guy like this as a possible role model instead of some lowlife ghetto gangster. This is a man with talent, a work ethic, patience, and the willingness to see a project all the way through to completion. If he lived near me, I'd buy him a beer and ask for a ride. This is beyond outstanding!!!!

Such a pleasure, to see such dedication. Seeing Parts worked on in a kitchen, living room and any other place that works out well for the restorer, reminds me of why some things become part of a family. Even when no onlooker at a later date could understand the deep connection people can have to objects like a car. Amazing work!

Congratulations! When I saw the beginning of the work I never expected a great restoration of this high level! She is a beautiful car! I learned something: The dry climate in Israel makes it easier to work on bare metal: Here in Switzerland you must hurry up to spray epoxy or an other thing right away to prevent things from rusting with the humidity of the air. He even has the courage to paint the car in the most unforgiving color: Black! Yesterday I worked on door panels on our kitchen table. I also work in my underwear grinding small car parts in my garden when noone can see me. Now I must run tho have a shower. I am covered in vintage rust as I worked on a rusty floorpan of a 63 Chevy I am restoring.
