she inspired me soo soo soo much with her first album and the way she sings. She is the greatest musician of her generation. She deserves more credit to be honest

That right arm motion is something i learned watching KT play. Now I'm learning to overcome it in my electric melody playing 😂

She’s absolutely right. I grew up in the 70s, started playing in 1987 (during the height of shred guitar), and learned to shred with no rhythm. 32nd note runs devoid of ant personality or feeling. And, I couldn’t play rhythm aside from a straight forward 4/4 power chord “chug”. I actually had to go back and re-learn to play guitar. When I started to listen to great players rather than great shredders, my whole musical world opened up.

I love the application and phrase, trying to play drums on your guitar, you feel the groove, the heartbeat of the song. When you did first mention rhythm, it made me think of “ Black Horse And The Cherry Tree “ I heard you play it at a outdoor concert and the reverb with the open air environment made it sound so cool. I also thought Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine song, “ Rhythm Is Gonna Get You “. That Latin beat will breathe life into dead bones and cause them to get up and dance. LOL 😂 Like you say, practice along with your favorite songs and it will improve a person’s rhythm. Thanks. 🎸👍🙏😎✌️

I love that advice! I use to think I just sucked at playing with other people or my rhythm was just horribly off. I too, was that percussive guitar player, going crazy on the kick snare and either I was really hard to follow and or, I was bored trying to tame my inner vamp-strum beast. Eventually, I also found some unorthodox drummers and percussionists, who helped me lock in and didn't try to make me strum like Johnny Cash all the time. It's crazy to hear that a highly successful musician like KT. had a similar experience, in her musical journey, all the way up to stardom!

Thank you KT! I am a rhythm freak and have been playing music (bass, guitar, vocals) more than fifty years. When I met my now husband, I was thrilled when he told me he also played guitar. I asked him if he had rhythm., and he said sure! But he doesn't. Nada. We tried playing together and it almost ruined our marriage. In the first 10 years he didn't believe he had a problem. But my poor husband was simply unable to keep the up-down going on his guitar because as soon as he tried to change chords, he would either take a weird breath to hold a rest, or he would hit the down, no matter where he was in the pattern. BUT - it's been 10 more years, and he finally realized that if he really wants to fix this, he has to FIRST get "humble, (admitting you can't do something doesn't need to be humiliating. It just means you're starting your journey. SECOND get "open," (Let go of what you know and what comes easy. It is wrong. Allow yourself to suck at this new thing. That is learning. THIRD get reeeeeeeal slow. Slower than slow, with a metronome. And after 6 months of serious work he is finally beginning to relax and feel the elusive groove. Thank God!

[7-16-2024] Thank you SO much KT! So many fellow guitar players I've encountered that I've tried to explain exact what you did in this video... that have argued with me about "rhythm". *Sigh*. I'd share this video with them but, they are too hard headed to understand.

It takes boldness to play rhythm like you do. That is a sub lesson unto itself perhaps & I now will try to use my " boddy" as you pronounce it a little MORE. After all music helps to set you free & make you feel free. Why shouldn't our boddy be involved? Great to listen to you indeed

Thought your settings looked very radical compared to everything else I’ve tried.. I’ve really struggled with feel on ACC but these settings have helped massively! Can feel the cars slide’s much clearer giving more control and confidence.. Knocked 8’s off my record at the Nords on my first lap 8.20 .. Happy day! Thank you 🙏

She'd be perfect for me. We could go back to her gome town where she can teach me better guitar and I can teach her how to golf at the greatest course in the world.

. . . “Golf” - ?.. ‘150 acres of God’s green earth - to ‘play a game’. Nah, I do believe Miss Tunstall is way above … ‘ g o l f ‘ . Google ‘George Carlin on Golf’. It’s all in there .
