My dachshund is so happy when his people are all gathered around him. He's old now and a bit less enthusiastic but the whole neighborhood used to know when one of us got home. The joy in him was obvious! Sounds a great deal like this doggie. Those ears tell me he's other than dachshund but the rest of him resembles my boy. Bud is a longhaired. I currently live with my sister. He LOVES when both of us are in a room together. He is usually by my side but he does his doggie duty and checks on her frequently. If I'm busy on my feet he goes and hangs out with her if she's seated. We recently moved out of a huge two story home. He was so exhausted by the end that he could barely move for days. Trying to keep track of both of us and all the movers just about did the 10 yr old charmer in. I wasn't in much better shape. We're both getting old! He can tell if someone isn't trustworthy. He's been known to back them right back out the door they came in. He has yet to be proven wrong. He was a gift from the angels. Found my door after being dumped, grown but still a pup. I needed him more than he needed me. My son and housemate died 16 months after Buddy came to us. I would have followed my only child if not for the good little dog that still needed me. So many tears in his pretty red fur.

We love him exactly as he is; he’s a serious foodie 🤷🏼‍♀️ and he’s up there in age. Doesn’t like walks since his partner passed in January/24😭

Buddy groans a lot more when he's chubby. So do I. Kinda proud of how I've kept his weight so steady over the decade. He lost his agility and quickness when he gained a pound and a half. Normally weighs 16.6 lbs.

Molly cat claimed my son as her human. The way she would wait for him was so dear. If not for her brother Murphy I wouldn't have had a kitty to cuddle. When he was gone for a couple weeks she'd finally walk across my lap. She wouldn't pause for pats unless I grabbed her up and let her know she was a silly girl and I loved her too. She was such a tease! So catty! Murphy had the mindset of a puppy his whole life. So loved! So missed!
