This is my dad. He literally heard the neighbor start his mower last year (he heard it from across the house), ran to the window like the dog and under his breath muttered "son of a bitch" before announcing that he had to mow. My mother made him wait til after breakfast, he was so mad 😆

I saw a picture of my father from the mid-1960’s, out in the yard with my siblings when they were little, wearing a white undershirt, khaki shorts, black dress socks, and black Florsheim oxfords. I then walked by a window and saw him out in the yard wearing the same outfit. It was 1988. The only difference was the size of his stomach. lol

Aw, that makes me miss my dad. But he always called his khaki's 'suntans'. It was a huge liberation for his poor feet when he finally bought 'deck shoes'. That generation sure had class and dad-style in abundance. As well as truly kind hearts.

I use a push mower and quiet garden tools like hand shears, a digging fork, and wheel barrow. I swear, my neighbors use their noisy, stinky, 2 stroke engine weed whackers and blowers as a point of pride, to make up for my lack of obnoxious racket and fumes. Then they blast music for hours and use far too much starter fluid on cheap briquets. Their children scream an awful lot, more than most kids. Yappy dogs round out the symphony. Good times Summer fun!

Those burgers remind me of a place in Nebraska that served extra big patties. Must've weighed a few pounds. They had specially made buns the size of dinner plates. Whoever tended the grill on those bad boys definitely didn't have twiggy forearms. Tell your folks I says hi.

I remember when the Wisconsin Badger football team went to the Rose Bowl in California about 1994 or so? The hotels and bars in the area ran out of brandy, the stadium ran out of beer after the third quarter, which has never happened before. The Wisconsin ppl were walking around in shorts and T-shirts while the Californians were wearing jackets and long pants.

Definitely sharing this with my amazing son-in-law who is a great dad turning into an amazing dad with this training. (I bet he can totally relate to the cooler of Capri Sun training!) He's a firefighter-EMT so he's already a hero and only needs this tiny bit of polishing. Luckily, besides being incredible he also has a humble-yet-fantastic sense of humor.

Where everyone can see and hear them. Using their power tools. You can never have any privacy, tend to your own business and or leave your house unnoticed unless it's between 9pm and 5am.
