Not sure if this was already mentioned but I believe the rules state that you pay food fees and gold fees when you back up and land on a spot as well as doing so when moving forward. It doesn't look like you to paid when traveling backwards.

Good game but I want to point out an error at 36.40. You can not discard stored food to load new food in the same hold. She should have discard the gunpowder for added food.

every round you discard your played card and draw 1 card makes it 3 card in your hand , right ?

I've played it where ALL the players have to do their day time actions first which then will have an effect on the consequent night time actions. It feels logical to do it that way. What do you think?

Logical, yes. Correct according to the rules, no. Of course, if you like it that way, you can always house rule it.

Not in this but the expansion: "Jamaica - the Crew" gives that. There's a whopping 20 characters and special powers. Really 'ups' the game!

The treasure cards are mini European size, approx. 44 x 88, I think.

Does anyone know how to determine if the ghost ship is ahead or behind on the corners. If you are in the outside track, and the ghost is on the inside, you could be both ahead and behind the ghost ship.

A ship is ahead if the number of tiles it needs to move through to reach Port Royale is lower than it would take to another so for instance if you and another ship are both on the first tile of a corner, you are on the inside and the other ship is on the outside, you are ahead; (not that easy to explain without graphics, but i hope i was clear enough :D )

One thing confuses me, why do you both play a card on one persons roll of the dice? Doesn't every player roll before their own go?

Action cards are selected by every player during every roll of the dice.

Cool! Thanks. :-) Couple more questions if you don't mind? 1. If you're the aggressor in a battle and win, you can obviously take any of the special cards which have to be placed upwards (the extra cannons, swords etc if the player has them), but when it comes to taking treasure (the face down cards) can the winning player look at them or does one have to be taken at random from the hand? 2. If you're the defending player in a gun battle, and you win. Can you loot the other persons boat? Or is it only the aggressor who can loot?

Probably unnecessary to note, but at the 31:50 mark, she should have had to pay 3 food when she landed on that space. She only had 2 food, so she would have had to go back 2 spaces....pay the port fee, and her score would have been slightly less...great video though!

Travis Tierno I noticed that too. Also at the 30:50 mark, she replaced 3 food for 1 food and your not allowed to switch for the same item, it has to be different cargo item. Great playthrough guys!

Do all players make a daytime move first and then a night time move after?

I don't really get the ghost ship thing. seems a bit naff. basically it's a three player game

A lot of board games are designed for 3+ players, and have an additional rule if you only have 2. For example, in Risk, if there are only two players, then each player controls 1/3 of the world at the start of the game (just like in a 3-player game) and then there is a neutral player that controls the rest. Generally these games wouldn't play very well with 2 players, which is why the additional rule is added.

I hate to tell you but that is not accurate historical information on the Pirate biographies in the rulebook. One example is that Bartholomew Roberts was a Welsh pirate (a real man) and not Anne Bonnie dressed up like a man! Also Blackbeard's real name was Edward Teach!
