So that's how you got kidney disease; I'm thinking I won't die of kidney disease because of your channel. I'm stage two but my gfr numbers bounce between in the 90's and 70's. I'm a type II diabetic and have high blood pressure, both are being treated, I'm working on my weight, and I'm closely monitoring and controlling blood sugar. I digress; my son, a nurse, said; "Dad something is going to get you, I see it every day, eat a balanced diet, exercise and eat clean."

Thank you for your support - I love your comment! I actually get a few thumbs down on each video shortly after they are posted. While KZbin doesn't allow me to see who does it, the timing of them always aligns with very negative comments posted to my facebook page about the videos from an admin of a Kidney Facebook group I am banned from (for being too positive - her group focuses on the doom and gloom of dialysis). That consistent timing makes it easy to see who the thumbs down most likely are coming from. I hope that one day she will see that having a positive attitude is much more effective at dealing with kidney disease and that dialysis, transplant, and death are not the only options. Life is too short to dwell on the negative.

Now in November, I am a GFR of 57, I've lost 10 lbs, changed to a 🪴 plant based diet, and feel so much better. I don't eat sugar at all!! More active, exercising, drinking plenty of water 💧! No soda! I know it sounds like a lot, but I listened to him, and I can't believe the difference! Everything is reversed! Do your research, get serious, listen to those who know! You can get better 😌! Dear Sir, i am an IgA nephropathy patient with 12.5 creatinine. I have been diagnosed with igA since 3 years and was managing somehow but suddenly creatinine shooted from 5 to 8.3 level of creatinine in July 2019, then 10 to 12.5 within 6 months. Doctor advised me to do either dialysis or transplant but i did not do any of these but undergoing Naturopathy /Neuropathy treatment from Aug 2019. I was slightly depressed as i am not able to walk properly due to swelling. Then, i saw your inspiring video which gives me a ray of hope! I will follow your instructions and i will never allow myself to be a 'dialysis customer'. I will come back with my rejuvenated kidneys. Thank you ☺

2 early symptoms I had other than swelling feet is an episode when I couldn't catch my breath even while sitting. It was like all the oxygen was taken out of me. A second symptom is when one night I felt like I was in a freezer when the room temperature was normal. I was thinking it was heart related, when it was actually kidney related. Also make sure to check your own blood work even if you get a call back from the doctor saying everything looks good. Because you want to know if your egfr is on the lower range for your age. Doctors seem to just glance over things.
@DADVICETV5 жыл бұрын
It is very sad to say, and I had to see it for myself by purchasing a medical textbook from 2006, but until 2007 most doctors where trained to not say anything until stage 4. So much less was known about kidney disease and they were trained that there was very little that could be done and to wait until stage 4, then start preparing you for dialysis at stage 5. That same textbook also recommended only "1 can of soda" with each meal as part of the renal diet. Medical science has learned so much in just the last 13 years around kidney health. Another challenge doctors tell me about is that most people will not make the changes recommended to their diet and lifestyle, so it feels pointless to try and recommend that route. Those of you who found my videos WANT to get better, you WANT to avoid dialysis, and most of you are willing to make the changes to try and improve your kidney health. We are in the minority due to so many people falling for the myth that there is nothing you can do about kidney disease. But together we can help spread the knowledge and empower others to fight kidney disease. By sharing each of our success we can inspire others to talk to their doctors for an alternative to dialysis, transplant, and death. Getting a copy of your labs is always a great idea - which allows each of us to research are results and uncover and issues early that our doctors may have been trained to keep silent on.
@tlyons85375 жыл бұрын
Well I have a story for you....my family doctor did not to let me know that my kidney function was low until it was at 2.0 creatinine then he sent me to the nephrologist which in turn sent me to get a biopsy on my kidney she did not tell me that I had kidney disease I had never heard of kidney disease I was told that I had a really bad kidney infection so now I am on dialysis due to swelling in my body so I guess she is happy now

The 15 tips are: 1. Keep blood sugar down. Take fasting and 2 hr after meal readings. 2. Keep blood pressure down - track it. Keep it steady at 130 over 80. 3. Lose weight. The more overweight, the faster kidneys deteriorate. Walking helps manage BP and BS. 4. Don’t drink soda. 5. Stop smoking and avoid street drugs 6. Balance your blood to normal pH 7.35 - 7.45. Food - too much protein - brings it out of balance. 7. Eat less protein 8. Eat less phorphorus (read ingredients) 9. Limit shellfish (avoid) 10. Skip canned foods - BPA lining on inside, hi sodium, hi sugar 11. Avoid pain pills -> really destroy kidneys 12. Avoid contrast dye X-rays, MRI -> damage kidneys, use ultrasound, alternatives 13. Take antioxidants like Q10 (heart) and turmeric 14. Take fish oil 15. Eat a balanced, kidney-friendly diet

Im a white male 46, i check my blood pressure at home and it averages 125-130 over 75-80. i am one of those who gets white coat syndrome . I noticed if you urinate in the middle of the toilet you make bubbles vs urinating on the side you dont really make any hardly and if you do they go away rather fast. Thank you! Glad to hear you only eat animal protein every once in a while. While I am not a vegetarian, I do eat a very vegetarian diet due to it being better for my kidneys with my current stage. It is pretty shocking how much stress red meat puts on your kidneys when you have kidney damage.

Dadvice TV - Kidney Health Coach Ive been a vegetarian for many years before so it’s not bad to avoid meat. But once in awhile I crave it and I do have chicken. A bite or 2 lol I was born in Japan and grew up eating a lot of Japanese food and also lived in Hawaii so I do make different dishes to change my menu a bit, Korean good with veggies are good also. I just avoid adding salt, lol

@@Emi10673 That sounds awesome! If you do decide to use salt, reach for Pink Himalayan Sea Salt. It's the healthiest of the salts. I grew up an Air Force brat and also travel internationally for work now as an adult. I love visiting Asia and spent a lot of time in Korea for work.

Mr. James, thanks for nice videos. What did you do getting so energy I would like to get energetic like. Just let me know it.
@DADVICETV3 жыл бұрын
The one thing which helped me get my energy back was working with my renal dietitian and doctor to get my anemia under control. I have a video about what I ate - pretty much I added more Iron and a few certain vitamins into my diet by selecting certain foods and cooking with cast iron cookware. Some people need injections or supplements and your health care team can determine if you need any of those. Here is a link to how I did it: www.dadvicetv.com/cure-anemia - check with your doctor to see what they recommend for you.

Thank you so much or your content! I have transitioned mostly to a plant based diet for my kidney health and am curious if vegan protein powder is ok for your kidneys in the same way that plant based protein is? I can find no one to answer this. I am in stage two for kidney disease but also have IBS so certain plant based proteins bother my stomach (I avoid soy like you suggest as well) and am looking for other options. Glad to see that you have improved your kidney health so much!
@DADVICETV5 жыл бұрын
Perfect timing - I just finished filming of my next video about diets. It took a lot of research and looking at the different sources of protein was a big part. Plant based protein is great - not only is it easier on your kidneys, but there is a study (www.ajkd.org/article/S0272-6386(15)01339-6/abstract) showing that it can actually be beneficial to those with CKD. The Vegan protein powder will be seen by your body as plant based - both are good choices. Only caution I have to offer is to find out how much protein you need and stick to that. So many products today are stuffed with extra protein and people are being incorrectly taught that more protein is better. Our goal is to give our bodys what they need, and nothing more. Good luck and thanks for watching!

@@DADVICETV That's good to know. I've been taking Collagen Peptides (5 gr.) with MSM (500 mg) for years, which has reduced "wrinkles". I'm 85 & many people tell me I don't look near that old, plus I'm pretty active & have always been healthy.... until now.

The case of a patient with systemic lupus. Multidrug treatment, titrated to urinary proteins, blunted proteinuria and stabilized GFR for years in a young girl with nephrotic proteinuria and systemic lupus (92). She was given an ACE inhibitor in order to maintain a diastolic blood pressure of 90 mmHg or less. Her proteinuria reduced remarkably. Three years later, proteinuria was again measured at 9 g/24 h, and she had severe renal fail-ure. There was no sign of active lupus. In addition to dietary sodium and protein restriction, she was given an ACE inhibi-tor plus an angiotensin II (Ang II) receptor antagonist, and a statin (92) with up titrations as deemed appropriate. Full remis-sion of proteinuria was achieved within 6 months. Seven years later, proteinuria averaged 0.1-0.2 g/24 h, and renal function improved. This case shows that it is now possible to stabilize or even reverse disease progression, even in an advanced phase of the disease (Figure 3).The case of pancreas transplantation. Regression of diabetic renal dis-ease with glomerular architecture remodeling has been observed in a few patients with type 1 diabetes after 10 years of normoglycemia induced by a pancreatic transplant (93). Kidney function, however, did not return to pretransplant values. These findings show that sustained normoglycemia induces regression of lesions of diabetic glomerulopathy, extending previous evidence obtained in experi-mental animals (94, 95) to humans
