What does a high Creatinine and a high Hemoglobin (HB,A1C) what need to be change in diet
I just found out Thursday, I have done nothing but cry, plan my funeral, cry, try to breathe though the tears and trying to find what I can do on the internet. My precious daughter, found you and sent me the link. Oh to feel like you do again, I would be so happy. God bless you for giving of yourself to others. I'm exhausted, I'm scheduled for transfusion on the 13th.

Jenny - Sorry for what you are going thought. I hate to say this, but this is completely normal (and it should not be). The Internet is mostly highly general, incorrect, and dangerous info. What is important is to manage your underlying cause to stop further damage, then work on your diet. The good news is the diet is so much easier than it sounds! A renal dietitian is your best resource - and you’ll learn a lot about that from the videos I have created. You will also find the community here on Dadvice TV to be positive and supportive! Your daughter did you a huge favor - you are in a great place now to focus on what really matters to kick kidney disease to the curb!

Hi James. I recently discovered you and am in complete awe of your energy, positivity and perseverance. You are truly admirable and I absolutely look forward to new uploads from you. I had a few Qs: what was the lowest your Hb has ever been? In your journey to relieving anaemia, were you ever advised to take EPO injections? I know this is common in stages 4 and 5. If so, and I’m guessing you refused as it would seem you used diet as your main weapon, I am full of hope that diet can resolve anemia deficiencies. My mum is stage 5 and her HB is 8.6. We’re resorting to diet and a cast iron skillet thanks to you! We’re also working towards improving her creatinine. Please keep doing what you’re doing. God is certainly most Merciful 🤲
@DADVICETV4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. I don't have all of my labs going back to when I was diagnosed, but I did get fairly close (after a month of treatment) and my Hemoglobin was 9.9 - and I did take EPO injections for a short time when I was first diagnosed - this 9.9 was well after getting the injections. I wasn't aware that diet could help me in the beginning - those first 3 months or so after getting out of the hospital were difficult. Even though it was only a year and a half ago, there was so much less information online to help. there was no alternative to my channel - it felt like a void of doom and gloom. But once I really focused on nutrition (and I wasn't a believer at first) I got my anemia under control and things just got better from there. It took time - but every day I felt better...better enough to FEEL it. Then one day (and I noted that day in a video) things where so much better - the anemia was gone and so was the pain from my kidneys. I have stayed up with my Iron (cast iron), a Super B-Complex vitamin (with some C) and haven't had a hint of anemia since. When you get anemia under control - it is life change, majorly life changing. Even when you are suffering from it, you don't realize just how much it is holding you back and how exhausting everything is. I would tell me wife it was difficult to walk from the bed to the bathroom - and I somehow overlooked how tiring it was to sit up in bed, or to stand up from a chair. We overlook those small issues due to the larger ones before us - but suddenly, almost as if overnight, ALL of that goes away. You no longer have to PUSH yourself to walk down the street. It's something I wish doctors understood so that they would focus more on treating anemia right away. While fighting anemia, it's hard to improve much...your organs are in need of oxygen. If we focus on anemia right away, I believe (and I'm not a doctor) that we will then have the energy we need to improve faster overall. Also check out the Iron fish - you use it in a regular pot/pan or put it into a large contain with tea. amzn.to/2ANrjJW It makes cooking easier since it doesn't weight as much as a full cast iron skillet.
@rehannakhan89224 жыл бұрын
Dadvice TV - Kidney Health Coach that is awesome to hear - thank you so much for the thorough response. Doctors believe EPO injections are the only way but NEVER advise on dietary changes at ANY point! I think we’re going to start with diet, supplement and a few EPO injections. Then move to diet and supplement alone. FYI we found this wonderful supplement www.amritanutrition.co.uk/products/quikplus-iron-5mg-59ml - a little pricey but we’ll be using until I figure out the iron cast skillet. My first attempt at cooking in it was an epic fail. I think it needs a lot of seasoning thought it’s supposedly pre-seasoned. Iron fish? That’s sort of weird but what a fantastic and simple concept! I have to sincerely agree with you re making fighting anaemia a priority to compound benefits to stopping and improving CKD. Modern medicine has a long way to go. But people like yourself bring hope to so many and hope alone is so important. Thank you once again. Keep doing what you’re doing. God bless.

Good afternoon from the Bronx and thank you to all of you out there who are fighting the good fight. So early today I watched video number 50 about Anemia. I was very hopeful after watching it and want to move my hemoglobin level from a 7.1 to at least a 10 to avoid hormone treatments , of Epogen, or red blood transfusions. Then i went to see my nephrologist. To sum my visit up in one word... devastating! She said that within one year or less I would be on dyalisis and I can NEVER go from a stage 4 to stage three CKD due to my loss of protein . The only things left to do were to learn about becoming a dyalasis patient, and getting on the transplant list. So I just got home. Did not know what to do . I feel so angry. i dont want to give up but information is overwhelming, and the health care provider I depended most on has flat out rendered a death sentence. I am so sad.

I am a recent CKD 3 patient with all important nutrients and minerals in border or better except for my HB, Creatinine which are low and high respectively. I am diagnosed with Anemia as expected but now with a further diagnosis I have Thalassemia too. I am not sure which veggies or fruits to eat since iron consumption has to be limited along with the Potassium, Phosphorus, Protien and Sodium. In a dilemma and confusion 🥺😒. I am a vegetarian, with them only animal protein being milk (100-200ml) max in a day every other day. Please advise 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼.

Is it very possible to have ckd without going through UTI?
@DADVICETV4 жыл бұрын
Yes. The majority of kidney disease is caused by unmanaged blood sugar and high blood pressure. There are many other ways to damage your kidneys in addition to that.

Thank you, for this video DadTV this is great information for me because I'm on dialysis and my hemoglobin is fine and the doctor keeps giving me Epogen 4000 mg worth. And I found out HIV patient's and Cancer patient's take this same drug Epogen for anemia patient's with low red blood cells.

I personally dislike additional medication so I try to use diet as much as possible to limit medication to just what is absolutely necessary. It may be helpful to talk to your doctor about how much Iron you should get each day, along with Folic Acid and B12 (both are B vitamins) to see if you can manage your Hemoglobin and RBC through diet without the Epogen. No guarantee, but if you could that can save some money and less medication. Good luck!

I'm a little new on your channel. So, I got a question? How long does high creatinine levels of 3.46 have to be lowered in protein? It started this past Tuesday or Wednesday, and I have low hemoglobin, and I went from Stage 3 to Stage 4. Trying to avoid dialysis. I'm wondering.

What do you think about almonds, James? I saw they aren’t on the nuts list. Thank you for all your work.

Almonds are a great sound of fiber and can be a great add-in to salad, stir fry, or even eaten as a snack. I know eat almonds often to help me meet my daily fiber target.
