And they had her mother dresses at hand when she met with Viserys, so we can assume that she was actually with them in the capital for some time, and remember Alicent is older than Rhaenyra, so it's not like her mother didn't help raise her.
@LoneWulf2782 ай бұрын
@@elliemrp Most noble blood mothers never raised their own kids. People are measuring Alicent with modern standards. For a queen back then, being a mother really *was* just about birthing heirs. They wouldn’t have been raised by her or with her influence regardless of her maternal skills, this is especially true for the male children. Rhaenyra is the exception. Alicent’s parenting style (or lack thereof) was the norm.

He was always too concerned about the slights he percieved as intentional, feeling alone when in reality he was the one who abandoned Viscerys and his family. I feel he is realizing that alot of things he blamed others for is his own fault and it's hard to admit these things to yourself because doing so hurts the most important things to Daemon, his pride and how he percieves himself. I know people don't really like all the vision stuff but if a person is truly as prideful as Daemon they won't just see a hallucination and automatically admit to themselves what they have done. No matter was Deamon feels for that child, the ones welding the sword at that time didn't share the same and then the child became cannon fodder. Do you people know what visual story telling is? In this scene (the full scene from the show), the camera cuts away from Daemon's face and then zooms in on little Jaehaerys, briefly cuts back to Daemon's expression turning horrorfied, then back to a close-up of Jaehaerys, then back to Daemon when he starts to cry and drops his sword. His tears are not about Rhaenyra, although he feels guilt for putting her in this messy position. The reason he crys, is that he feels remorse for Jaehaerys's death. Not that he would ever admit to this anywere outside his own head, at least not yet. (Maybe at a later point, depending on what the show is going for with Daemon's charackter arc. They might be setting him up for a redemption arc ala Jamie Lannister here.)

Never indifference. And the truth is that he has been both. I saw a really interesting short on this character as GRRM wrote him - his characters are never fully good or bad, but Daemon is apparently meant to have this extreme duality. I wonder if they wud change daemon's arc from d books n make him live till d 4 th season ? Cuz he is one of d biggest draws for d show. Him n Aemond. . . If Aemond n daemon die fighting each other, dis season. Not many wud wanna watch it afterwards.
