Me too. I love that they leaned in with the magical elements. And since we aren't told what he was really up to that whole time, they had a lot of room to play with.

THANK YOU. I'm so tired of the conversation centered on Daemon "doing nothing" this season and being ruined. God forbid a man face his demons, grow, and die for something besides his own ego.

i also picked up on the reincarnation hint when damon falls into the water he looks like a comet falling through the water and then cuts to the red comet almost mirroring his death and his soul being recycled and reincarnated into Daenerys' rebirth as the mother of dragons almost as if his sould transisioned from the water to the red comet

@@TheDavidDeFreitas THIS! I've been talking about this in my past few videos/livestreams; I believe the funerary rights for the Targs vs Velaryons (cremation vs water burial) have the potential for a water rebirth of the spirit, allowing the soul to reincarnate. It's been subtly emphasized throughout both seasons, and I am choosing to believe that was what we saw in the weirwood vision! I'm glad you picked up on it as well!

@@FeyFire yes that makes so much sense, also aother thing i noticed if you watch carefully when Daemon is with Laena in Pentos flying with Vhaegar and Caraxes, Laena yells Dracarys, and vhagar flyes under the fire but Daemon behind her on carazes they fly through the fire and he emerges unburnt making me think that he is also highly resistant to fire like Daenerys is and it got me thinking about his soul being recycled into Danenerys with their fire resistance, Rhaenys also seemed to be fire resistant when she fights against Aemond and Aegon, Aegon burns and Rhaenys armor becomes black like charred but she is unburned like Daemon and Daenerys. the true blood of the dragon Genes are stronger in them, but not all targaryens get to have it.

So refreshing to find a reviewer who gets the Daemon storyline. So many otherwise good, intelligent & insightful channels keep complaining about it being 'boring' and want their 'cool' Daemon back. Well, even the coolest person can't just be 'cool' all the time. Depth is needed and this storyline provided just that. Interesting you made the comparison to Ayahuasca as that was exactly my thought as well! Personally I am not so sure about the Christ/Mary comparison or equating Alice with the Ghost of High Heart (the descriptions don't see to match imo), but that doesn't take anything away for me from your deep, fascinating analysis of this storyline!

I’m home sick today, and I get treated to a Fey Fire analysis of Daemon’s trip to the lair of the God’s of Olds! Love it! It’s as if Daemon has taken Persephone’s decent into the Underworld and returned anew in the Spring, changed from the very feminine divine he has tried to run from. He’s embracing and embodying the Divine Feminine. We could even say that the three women in his dreams, Rhaenyra, Alyssa, and Laena. Visaerys represents his greatest shame, and Alice (The Crone) and Helena (the Crone), whilst Daemon becomes the maiden in his virgin trip into the divinity of the Goddess. The Green Men represent the male deity of Pan and his disappearance is for him to see that vengeance is necessary only when warranted and that the warrior, and male power, must be merged with the fertility, diplomacy, and the raw savage nature and powerful emotions, the depths of ferocity of the Triple Goddess. We could even see all the symbols of the God head through the mischievous, brave, and mysterious allure of a young knight (Daemon), Visarys as the Ruler and Last Elder handing over his task to his metaphorical son and successor of his sacred duty. Finally, Daemon feels chosen by Visarys as worthy of carrying this sacred duty from beyond the grave. The black Goat represents death and symbolizes Satan as the ultimate prosecutor before the King of All. People always see Satan as the enemy when he’s actually the symbol of justice by both tempting mortals and reading off their sins and prosecuting their case before the ultimate King of all Kings. This is Daemon embracing complete growth from a petulant man child to a reborn King that needs no crown or symbols of authority. A crown doesn’t make you a King, the people willing to follow you through horror and triumph choose you to lead them because you are a just and righteous man, fighting for something greater than men and their follies. Daemon has gained perspective and valuable wisdom with his Mary Magdalene (his most devout disciple and equal on Earth) that never gave up on him, mothered him, revealed hidden knowledge to him, and cries because she is cursing him to the world of the Divine and losing her equal and most cherished love to the greater will of God or the Gods in this case. She could’ve talked him out of this, but she too is a servant of the Gods, and she has to support his decision to go to his death for the greater good. It’s both a honor and a privilege to serve the will of something greater than yourself and the responsibility of being chosen to carry out a sacred task is humbling and horrifying at the same time. I think of Jesus in the Garden of Gesetheme, crying “Why have you forsaken me?” An Angel comes to comfort him in this moment. He can’t talk to God in this moment, because he is the ultimate scapegoat of the old ways of blood sacrifices of his father, thus carrying all the sins of man within himself. He’s tainted with sin and thus father God must turn his eyes away from his son because he cannot look upon sin because he hates sin. He’s truly alone for the first time and scared. The Angel wraps her wings around him, imbuing him with the strength to carry out the sacred task he was born to fulfill. After his time in the darkness, he goes willing to the tree, wearing the crown of thrones that allows his blood to stain the wood before he is hung upon it, thus merging his blood with that of the tree he is sacrificed, his physical death, decent into Hell and freeing the souls from Sheol, and his resurrection and ultimate transfiguration. Mary of Nazarus (Helena) and Mary Magdalene (Alys) are present for the entire process. And, who is standing with him when he returns to the living, Alys. She witnesses his rebirth to the world, now armed with the sword of truth and the weight of divine responsibility. Her tears are sea and salt, and Daemon is smoke and fire. He is the chosen one for his age, much like John the Baptist was before Jesus. He baptizes with water, but the one coming (Daenerys) will baptize with fire and Jon will wield the sword of Justice, representing the masculine/feminine of the true God head. I believe we will see Daemon continue to have prophetic dreams and encounters with the magical beings in ASOIAF. I am hoping they continue this journey into the mysticism surrounding this world. Hopefully we see Rhaenyra getting to interact with Rholor, or his representatives, the children interacting with Daemon, Adam, Helena, Alys, and Aemond. Going back and rewatching the Night King in GoT, and the only dragon rider I’ve seen ride with such ease and command of his dragon is Daemon. The spikes on his head are like that of the dragons. Since who knows when George will finish the books, HBO is guiding the story to merge with the original series. We have Blood Raven and Bran that we know are three eyed ravens according to the series. Bran says that the Night King has destroyed many three eyed ravens before him. Merra Reed is the only character that truly understands that the person before her is not Bran Stark. Everyone else missed it. Bran didn’t lie to them, he flat out tells everyone that he isn’t Lord Stark, Jon isn’t his brother, he remembers being Bran but he’s more now, and he alone holds the history of mankind. He wants to bond with Drogon, but the dragon took his mother to be resurrected and thus cannot bond with anyone else or he’s already chosen Jon as his next rider. Balerion was named after the Valerion God of Death, and Drogon is Balerion reborn. The Army of the dead are the dead that cannot die, but what are the White Walkers? Are they the dead or are they the givers of life everlasting? The Night King walks through fire and the way he reanimates the dragon Visarion (the name sake of his brother) by placing his hand upon the dragons nose and closes his eyes, initiating the rebirth and bond. I wonder if the God of the others was waiting on a dragon rider to add to his collection to nullify the power of the wall. I don’t think he will become the next three eyed Raven, but that Helena becomes the next three eyed raven. Her death won’t happen the way we think it will. She’s to important to die. I suspect she will glamor someone to look like her and that person will be the one who dies instead. A scapegoat so to speak.

Only your explanations could make the pacing tolerable. I understand most of this to begin with, but it’s much easier to digest when you analyze the arc for the character separate the from the rest of the characters.
