39:45 I don’t think it’s a funeral situation just because everyone is there! Only one person is missing from our known count (likely Natalie after they remove her from the group). Also it was confirmed by sammi that the hoods are made from plane seats, as for the white cloth, maybe from a parachute kept inside of the plane

This video just got me remembering things i thought I'd kept in the back burner. My one and only female best friend in middle school, setting the stage for all the toxic relationships I'd have with my ex-girlfriends. Yes, I know, very freudian of me, but so is consumption as a metaphor for unspoken attraction and love. She was... Popular, immensely so. Good talking her way in and out of trouble. Headstrong, fierce even for being so young. Cami (how I used to call her) was almost magical in my eyes. Everything she did was effortlessly cool, she herself was effortlessly beautiful, and everything she touched turned to gold. Cue me, the more soft spoken of the two, definitely not extroverted. I was the one that coddled the worst of her traits no questions askes, but would throw hands (quite literally) at anyone who dared call her out on them - which apparently also impacted her deeply, because the stories I heard later on? Felt like an echo chamber. Be as it may, I was also good at talking to people, but in a different way, I think. Turns out they like that gentler approach too - people at school adored her because she was funny, and outspoken, bold as hell, but also liked me because I was never one to judge, and offered comfort no questions asked. Reading all of this, you might have guessed differently, but don't think I was the underdog. Type B friends are the ones to take the first bite, to get mean because they are nervous and A is all they care about. The moment she realized people were getting interested in talking to me too, she lashed out. My best friend, at just ten years old, leading a smear campaign that I still have to deal with to this day, more than a decade later. I got bullied for years, even after she left town. And for years I thought she hated me, had always hated me, because why else do something like that? Seeing this video though... What if it was quite the opposite? Jealousy born not out of wanting to be me, but of wanting me all to herself? That's Shauna all over, imo. Strike first, strike harder. Sleep with her boyfriend because he can have a part of Jackie she couldn't ever hope to. Tell everybody all kinds of things that were not even close to the truth, but that they wouldn't question, because who best to know about her than her very own best friend? Hell, we even had our own kid-friendly version of Jeff before it all went up in sh*t. She was so pissed when he started hanging around us more, me more, and all of a sudden she just... Switched. Started hanging around him more than she did me, like it was proving a point. And I responded by doing the same until it seemed like we were fighting over him. Up until now, literally writing this down, I hadn't really made the connection as to why that boy was so interesting to me back then. I'm a lesbian, and me *wanting* him in any way just didn't make sense, even as a kid. Now it does. We were passing him between us, pretty much. I "wanted" him because if he was with me, she couldn't have him. She was mine, and I was hers. Everybody knew that... Even we did, on some level. That boy could be our friend, but to make the two of us a trio? F*ck no. Too bad she moved to Europe and we didn't really keep in touch. I think Cami would have a field day with me dissecting why we had that weird throuple thing going on with him in like seventh grade. And... I think I could totally laugh about it with her now, like its all just some silly little thing we did, and not a massive turning point for the kind of people we'd one day grow up to be. The bullying hurt. The rumors, the things I had to go through, specially knowing she was the one behind it all, was f'cking gnarly. And I know she didn't change that much, that she still has the same dark triad running strong, the same way I'm still too prone to just lay there and take it all without a fight. Yet, if she ever came back, I think I'd let her eat my heart out again, just so she'd finish the job properly this time around. Hm. Maybe some type As are a biiiiit maso. Figures I use Jackie as my pfp right?

Cali cant be pit girl because in that scene Mist takes off her mask and puts the glasses back on. I do like the idea of Cali being inducted into the coven because she did join the hunt and she does have that prepared for violence look her mom has. That would be an interesting parallel in the modern day coven, Lisa seems a product of Lotti and Nat. I can see her being the opposition/conscience to Cali's bloodlust. That seems to be what 1996 season 3 is going to be around by the preview.

Lots of parallels between Callie and Jackie. Perhaps, as her literal daughter, there is a second Persephone parallel there? But if that’s the case…… the parallels probably won’t end there…. I foresee grim ending for Callie and adult Shauna truly absolutely unleashed

tbh i hope it's not melissa. she hasn't gotten enough focus in the 90s timeline for her survival to matter to me
@yateswebb11 күн бұрын
that's what screenwriting is for. We had no idea who any of these characters were 2 seasons ago. They've done a very smooth job of adding characters, no doubt. Also Melissa has a very symbloic name literally meaning "bee keeper" so it would be super odd for showrunners who invest so much in detail to just like, not deliver on that.

I really dislike teen Shawna's vibes in contrast to adult Shawna who, although reprehensible, has a dark sense of humour in her speech and actions. Anything in the wilderness that concerns her is just a pain in the butt. Speaking as a viewer, not as a human being with compassion of course :) At the beginning I definitely sided with her, being unfavourably compared to Jackie who, for some reason is seen as a queen. Really, her? I mean she's fine but I really don't see the charisma or the hotness.

I truly think the role of the Antler Queen, and the role of the Leader are two different things! Lottie will always be the only character that fits the AQ role, especially after reading the Pilot Script the official term for the AQ is " The Shaman" , and that is Lottie without a doubt. She has a lot of deer symbolism in both timelines, whereas Natalie never got an Adult Storyline of the girls saying "oh she used to be our Queen" compared to Lottie where they are not shocked that she runs a "wellness center" Shauna even going as far as comparing her to a "cult leader persona". But I really want to see why the Adults are so weary of Lottie cause apart from the S1 finale, young Lottie did no wrong in S2.
@mattlibra313913 күн бұрын
I’m guessing we’re going to see more of the girls pushing her to a role she doesn’t want, not just spiritual leader but mouthpiece to the gods, she doesn’t want her word to have such weight which is why she eventually goes nonverbal.
@Cdot948 күн бұрын
Lottie is the only one that we see interact with or see the antler queen but if the original term is Shaman it fits better than Antler Queen. I always suspected the adult cast kind of stepped away from Lottie because they didn't want to be reminded of who they were in the wilderness. But Shauna and Taissa do hint that Nat was in charge for a good while. Taissa reminds Shauna they wouldn't be alive if not for Nat and she paid for the rehab because Tai felt she owed Nat while they waited for Jeff to take the money. I'm really interested in seeing teen Shauna's descent because modern day Shauna seems the most skeptical or 'normal' but that gives me the vibe she's the worst of them. Misty has a lot of issues but she's not physically violent, she's a killer but a poisoner. Tai has her split personality to explain what she does, Van I'd say we haven't seen be physically violent but she has that fanatical devotion building through S1 and S2 so it's violence but faith based. Nat is displayed as capable of violence but it's out of necessity. Shauna does messed up things it seems from something within on her own. She was the first cannibal when she ate Jackie's ear secretly, she enabled the others to eat Jackie by taking the first bite, beat Lotti until she pissed blood, she's also the butcher of the group, modern day she killed the hare in the garden, killed her boyfriend, the monolog with the car thief in his office. The conversation about peeling skin and shaking in anticipation plus the conversations with her daughter give off some sociopath vibes. Then in the finale the way she approached Nat to kiss the ring it looked like she wanted to stab her especially watching everyone else bow first. Later in the scene she's writing in her journal upset she wasn't picked as leader. There's some lines about how she thought Jackie made her feel invisible and something about feeding them. Signs she thinks they're ungrateful or maybe Nat is her new Jackie.
