I know i am 11 months to late chris ,but better late than never ..Been on DAF for 26 cough years ...Port 25 is the handbrake on the APU there is a 1 way valve that sticks ...

Was shouting at phone "it's the 4 way circuit protection " I always fit genuine and change the air dyer unit with it and clean out pipes to compressor. Your right fixing it will be few hours and easy. it's finding the fault that takes all the time.

Hi Chris where I work we have changed that air dryer /protection valve unit on one of those Daf for the same reason ,sometimes the handbrake will release and more times it just refuses to release and it solved the problem, I think the hand brake valve is fed directly from the air dryer unit.

Yeah it’s the only answer I think, The feed from it should be more pressure than that! Supposed if that feed stopped the brakes would never release, let’s hope so if not I’ve replace the valve for nothing 😬 .... but shit happens 🤣it’s all good leaning, cheers Vince👍

The springs in the distribution valve do rust out ,if you ever see this fault on a daf it's 99.9 per cent of the time the distribution valve ,its what sends air to different systems I'm the truck , for example its why thecseat is the last thing to get Air ,

Might Be an idea to change the Can Before Anything This is not a Un Common Issue with All Modern Trucks Not Just DUF. The Feed To The Hand Break is Through the 4 way Valve. This is 80 % Of the Issue with these Trucks .They Pack up Stick Up Internal and die .What gets me is my old man had a 3600 Ati Space Cab . That Unit Never Ever Broke Not Once. it pulled Big Weight all it's Life and My Summer Holidays were spent in the Top Bunk Out with dad . 2.2 Million Miles that Unit did over a 15 year time frame Never Broke down !!! New. Paccar Cummings is going to be the New Power Plant For Mercedes and Volvo Shitty Bring Back The Normal Truck Ad Blue is Garbage .The true emitter of Gasses is the Aviation Industry and Nuke Power. A Jet engine Cruising at 38 .000 Will burn in 1 Hour Enough Fuel To Run Your Truck for 1.5 days Of Continued driving.... Stay safe Son always Beat the air Dryer Up First This is The Root of most evil with them. Shitbox things ;) Saf axles like to eat Breaks and Disks Its all Garbage Now . Good stuff mate, I’ve had the same problem on a Foden alpha 8 legger that was the multi circuit protection valve or apu whatever you want to call it. It would come off about the correct speed at 10 bar but any below it was slow as fuck!
