Aurora is Norwegian so English is not her first language. I believe that is why she sometimes has grammar mistakes. I find them endearing somehow.

You just stumbled on a genius music artist. Aurora is her real name not a brand. I'm 62 and discovered her about a year ago and she is my favorite singer ever. Her fan base is very tight and if you love her you will really love her. No in-between with Aurora.

Really good reaction. Aurora is like a demigod for me. Her lyrics are on the top shelf of poetry with many cultural aspects, modern and ancient. I love this artist to bits. And if you see her live it’s impossible to not immediately fall in love. Thank you for a mature and thoughtful reaction to this genius.

I really enjoyed your reaction, mate. As a fan of Aurora it is always fun to watch someone else experiencing something I'm already familiar with and seeing their reactions to it. It's kinda like back in the day when you'd get a new LP/CD and gathering with friends to listen to it (yes, I'm that old). It's some of that more social aspect of music that we've lost a little bit of with streaming and having access to everything all at once. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to find all kinds of music at the click of a button, but something I enjoyed about sharing music feels a bit lost, and reaction videos, like yours, gives me some of that same feeling, so thanks for that. Good on you for sharing bits about yourself and your journey with us internet strangers as well. That must take quite a bit of courage.
@talllankyguy8 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! I get what you mean about the social aspect of sharing music. I do think it’s still there, but it’s changed to more of a one-on-one thing. Because I can now pull up any song out of my pocket, it’s easier to casually share the odd song or part of an album with a friend. As for sharing bits of myself with the Internet, I’ve been doing that for a long time with a very small audience, so it’s actually kinda nice that it took until I’d had this much practice with it for these videos to actually get some substantial attention.

Wow! What a great reaction to this album. Such a pleasure to see songwriter/lyricist react to Aurora's lyrics. I've seen many reactions to this album and no one else has gotten as much insight as you did to her work. Her lyrics are in my opinion outstanding - especially when you consider that English is not her first language. She is also a wonderful, unique singer as well as musician, dancer and arranger/producer. I really enjoyed your educational presentation about drummers :). Interestingly, Aurora likes to "collect" sounds which she records and later uses in her songs. Also, her drummer Magnus Skylstad who's been with her since she started her career is a Producer as well as talented drummer and has been something of a mentor and close friend to her. I don't know if you also react to live performances, but I would recommend watching some of her live performances - she is amazing to watch. It seems like you really liked her "jams", but you might like to see her perform the stripped down versions of "Heathens", "Exhale Inhale" and "A Temporary High". I thoroughly enjoyed watching you discover Aurora and her music - you seem to be a kindred spirit - a lovely human being. I think you two would get along!

I enjoyed this reaction👍 Aurora is Norway’s national treasure imo😊 She started writing music at the age of 6 when she found an old electric piano in the attic. At the age of 9 she added English lyrics. So she’s self taught when it comes to singing and playing piano. She wrote her breakthrough song “Runaway” when she was 11 years old. The music video has over 620 million views, but if you want to check it out I recommend her live performance at the Nobel peace prize concert 2015 She has written songs for series/movies/games, and she sings “My sails are set” Nami’s theme song in “One Piece” She didn’t write this song though. She’s also the wind calling to Elsa in “Into the unknown” from Frozen 2, so she has performed in the Oscars. It would be awesome if you could react to her other albums as well. “All my demons greeting me as a friend” 2016 “Infections of a different kind step 1” 2018 “A different kind of human step 2” 2019 You will see they’re quite different, but every album of hers are great😍

AURORA is from norway and 27 soon 28 years old, and she is not just a AMAZING out of this world good singer she is also an amazing human being with good values, she is unique and has so much passion in everything she does. She is different from other artists. When she makes music she has something to say or tell us, her songs are never meaningless . Many artists sings about being out all night and fucking ect. But her biggest passion and inspiration is mother nature. She does what she can for our planet earth and she has let her fans be a part of it, which I think is amazing. Her songs will always take up importan subjects. Many songs is about the mother earth.. you just have to know more about her story... well she grew up on a very little place in Norway far far away from the city and the quiet was loud. She was out in the woods all the time when she was little so much that her parents used a cowbell to call her in to dinner. She loooves the nature and is really passion about it and the human soul.. that we are to much ashamed to be us, be human... show emotions and being yourselves thats why she used the greek gods as her inspiration in this album because they were so open and had no shame.Her songs about the clima crisis creats sympathy and love for our planet even for the once that dosnt have the same level passion as her. Her music also gives us hope, love and makes us feel importan She also takes action in what she preach about, everytime we buy something of her brand she plants a tree in south America. I have now planted 2 trees and It makes me feel good 💓 I recommend you to see her cop26 concert in that way you can see her speak about her passion and interact with the crowd. I think Aurora is the most authentic person you will ever see in the music industry. She is magic and such a big rolemodel. she have no shame, so free and so artistic. If you liked the audio you will love her live performances, you can really see art created her voice is angelic live and the music just take over her body and she become the music she is on a different planet and at the same time have the biggest stage presence ever, it is very interesting to watch some people think she is to weired but i think she is awesome You should see the documentary "once aurora" that shows the struggle in the beggining of her career as a teenager (goes all the way down to 2017 I think) and you can see her incredible artistic mind while creating music, she write all of her songs mostly alone and are also a producer so she makes everything her way!The "HAIK documentary" shows her love and passion for her fans and her free spirit. everyone should get to know Aurora she really can change the world with her words and mind🥰And be aware of her lyrics they ALWAYS has a meaning behind them and is so poetic. I really really recommend you to check out her live stuff they are better than the Audio versions!!!.. she is so good live it's insane... i hope you check out auroras concert at UMA cop26, or her Haik concert and documentary.

That was very cool hearing your thoughts and analysis of this album! 👍 I feel like this is her most experimental album (at least until she drops her new album soon), so you're getting a lot of different styles. Many people have referenced the Western feel of "Blood in the Wine," but I've not heard anyone make that connection to the other song (I don't even remember what it was). Glad you talked about that accordian-like instrument in "Artemis." I feel like that track and "The Innocent" are way underappreciated, so I was glad to see you liked both of them. Many seem to hate the piano in "The Innocent," but like you, I love it! Hope to see more Aurora on your channel. I don't know what you typically put out for content, but she's at her best live. Just a fantastic performer, and always sounds great. She also has some very creative music videos, though her most popular one, "Runaway," is not particularly creative. (It's her most popular song, though.)

Very nice and thorough reaction. Aurora explained in interviews her thoughts behind "The Gods We Can Touch" title and concept. She likes Greek mythology because they had Gods in and for everything, in the earth and water etc. and God of wine and pleasure and even a God that was a hermaphrodite, and the Gods had flaws like humans, they were not perfect. But at some point most of us chose a single God and put him/her far away in the sky judging us from above, and she feels that if we had kept worshipping Gods all around us in nature, we would have taken better care of the planet and nature, like many indigenous cultures still do today. Here is a quote from an Oct 2018 article, 3.5 years before this album was released. She answers a question about a song on a previous album, but ends up explaining this concept, and it is a beautiful little story: "On track eight you say ‘Be god in the shape of a girl’ - what does that line mean to you?" "I was at an airport, it was late, I was alone and my plane was the last one to leave. It was the year before I wrote the song, so 2016, which was a hard year for me because it was quite busy and I was sick all the time - I was in the hospital many many times. So yeah, at the airport… I was on my way home again, I felt a bit out of place, out of my own body, and then I looked at this family. I saw two very tired parents, and then this little girl - she was maybe 3 years old - and she seemed to give them so much joy, even though they were very tired. And she gave me a lot of joy. And then I saw an old couple, leaning over to look at the little girl who was smiling back at them. She seemed to interact with almost everyone at the gate, and make everyone happy. Without even knowing it. And I loved the way happiness and love can be so… simple? Don’t underestimate the power of a child. It was just very magical to see how much it affected everyone and everything. If I was to choose a religion, I would love it if god would be something that you can touch. Something like a little girl, on this earth, and not something that is far away or judges from above, you know?"
