Churchyard is about an abusive relationship. "He told me I could leave, but I wouldn't get far" "He closed all the windows, as his anger broke free" "hate followed him gently, black seized in his heart, whos tearing the love in him apart?" "Please remember me and cry". When he tells her she belongs in a churchyard, he's telling her she'll be in a grave if she leaves

Hate followed him gently, plant seeds in his heart. Roots' tearing the love in him apart... I think that's the correct lyric, please don't get me wrong.

“He told me I belong in a churchyard” also refers to Hamlet. After being rejected by Ophelia(hamlets former lover), hamlet snaps, calls her a whore and tells her she belongs in a convent. From that perspective, it is also a comment on the legacy of the patriarchy and how men have silenced woman in scorn.

This album is such a poetic masterpiece: Queendom was written after Aurora's trip in Latin America. It's a song that celebrates differences between people and is meant to be a "safe place" for everyone. Forgotten love is about the beauty of not being in love and appreciating the feeling of being alone. Gentle Earthquakes is about s*x and All is soft inside is about the inner world of introverts and also more specifically about autism. It happened quiet is about murder or r*pe. Chyrchyard is about an abusive relationship and Soft Universe is about the pain of living.

Honestly, Aurora is the closest thing to a goddess, not because I see her as inhuman or something higher than human, but because she represents humanity as a sound and feeling that reminds me what humans are capable of. That out of body feeling where you are victim to the waves of emotion and raw note manipulation is not abnormal regarding Aurora. Her voice and capacity for human depth through song and lyrics are quite a feat. It's why I love her so much, she believes in humanity and never fails to show me why I matter to the world. Her music video "The Seed" was the first thing I ever saw from her and from that moment I was transfixed. "The Seed" Music Video is still the best music video I have ever seen and that has never changed. I do hope react to that because truly it is why I came to love her music. Many of her fans call her Mother Nature and hat out of body experience you get listening to her as she describes things of beauty and displaying points of view is something worth truly loving.🥰

@carnivall ah, looked up that word real quick. To some degree you may be right on that, but I will say I don't really have that idolizing image towards her. It's more along the lines of 'I know she is different than how she is on screen, but on screen this is the vibe she gives off'. Perhaps that only pushed parasocial vibes anyway. I just really love how music can make you feel, especially the ones that viscerally resonate with you and make you want to move. Maybe it's my maladaptive daydreaming that amplifies that feeling since I physical move and am stuck in imagery that music provides me? I'm not sure fully, but I guess I am now aware of parasocialism now so thank you? Haha

9:20 If you haven't watched "Once Aurora" yet, the documentary of after her first album was released, her tour, and her writing of this album, I'd check it out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIW8iaqBm7SppNk Step I and Step II were written as a 16 track album. The record label wanted to take advantage of a good thing and break it apart, against what her and her manager wanted... at least initially. I think breaking them apart was probably a good move in the end. After putting together the original 16 track album, and between the two albums being released, she seemed to have added a few additional songs for the second album, bringing the total up to 19 tracks between the two. I definitely think this EP is her best "album", but there are some incredible tracks on Step II and The Gods We Can Touch. The song "A Different Kind of Human" is probably one of the most emotional songs I've ever heard. I've seen so many people burst into tears in their reaction to that song. Her live performance of it at 'Somehwere Else Festival" was definitely the most powerful version. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4G0Ya2Ji9-impI
