I saw them in 2008 at Oxegen in Ireland. Still one of the greatest gigs of my entire life. They were playing the MTV stage, and The Killers were on the main stage. It was completely stupid, because 90% of the attendees had come for Daft Punk. The main stage was nearly empty, while the crowd from the MTV stage spilled over as far back as the Dance Arena. I went with about 40 people from my home town (we were all about 18 years old). Lost everyone in the first 5 minutes of the show, found a new crowd of people, joined a big dance circle, holding hands, singing together. At the first break literally everyone asked at the same time "so do you guys all know each other?". Turns out NONE of us did, and it was just the power of the music that brought us all together in such a way that EVERYBODY that THEY were the random person in the group, and the rest were lifelong friends LMAO

Pues no eres el único, yo tenia tan solo 11 años cuando estaban haciendo su tour alive, en ese entonces no sabia que un día los iba a amar, y que por ellos me iba enamorar de la música electronica. Fue por ellos que me converti en Dj. Y tambien me da mucha tristeza saber que jamás podre ver su concierto en vivo.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I was lucky enough to be one of the few thousand people there that night. I've always been disappointed that the footage of it is almost all quite crappy. This is awesome work. I was 24 in back 2007 (yes, I'm old now). Even then, we had a feeling that this was a special show. Fast forward to today, and yep, it's one of the best gigs of my life. I'm unlikely to see a better show in my lifetime. And I'm just fine with that :) Wonderful memories, with great music and your best friends. This really is what it's all about.

They can take any one of their 90's masterpieces and make it sound godly to today's music, so much so that other DJ's sound vintage in comparison to this ultra tech. madness. Now, that is high quality DJ music that this new generation needs to hear. I'm not trying to diss other artists, but the songs played on the radio and at dances today are pure garbage in comparison to ANY of Daft's hit songs. You play just one Daft signature, and I can assure you that people will lose their minds. This is what we need!

As much as I love Daft Punk, there are many, many electronic artists these days that are almost or equally as good. Not all of them are well known, and they don't have the "Nostalgia Bonus", but if you really think they are this far in front of modern music you haven't listened to enough of it. No offense to Daft Punk, they are gods and at the very top. I just don't like these "older stuff is so much better" comments.

Damn. I believe 2007 was the year I was introduced to Daft Punk by a friend, as I was only in elementary back then, ever since then though, I was hooked. I never got the opportunity to attend one of their live tours, but man, the lengths I would go to just to have a chance at going for the first time. Just imagine... being there with a huge crowd, everyone just vibing and dancing and jumping without giving a flying fuck what anyone is doing, the rays of light illuminating the dark night, screams of celebration, meeting new people and making friends as Daft Punk blasts their god-level music all the way to the moon. Now that would be the night of a lifetime, and it's a dream for now. Please Daft Punk, come back, you're our only hope. Sincerely, everyone.
