im listening back to back between this and the original and im speculating whether its the orignal and you put footage of some random clips in ableton that sync with the song. Because not only is the sampling on point, but the mix is as well. Either you've played us all or you're very VERY skilled on a godly level. Good on you mate. Best remake by far.

It’s a remake. The original has many imperfections because Todd Edwards used somewhat scratched up vinyls because he thought it added character to the samples and the track as a whole. So it’ll never be a 1:1 recreation.

Jokes aside, you don’t need to worry about this remake being a copy and paste job from Daft Punk’s original (unlike another video in this website). There are noticeable differences in the mixing here; an example would be the buzzing synths in between the cut ups on “Evil Woman” being a bit loud. Details like that are fine but they’re what set Daft Punk apart from… well, us, y’know?

⁠@@schqrricro sampling is the strategy used in the original song, in which sections usually less than a second long from multiple songs or just one song are used to basically make a whole different song. daft punk also uses this in their song “high fidelity”. so although this could be considered a track remake, a more accurate word would me a “micro sample remake”, it still uses the small samples in the original song. to be considered a whole track remake the song would either have to 1. base on instrumentals, such as an 8 bit version 2. the micro samples would have to be recreated, through MANY other means, such as using your voice to recreate the samples

That sounds like a lot of work to me but maybe I'm just overestimating it.
