Imagine being in 2023 and thinking "holy crap, that random pair of DJs I saw at some club, back in '97, was Daft Punk!"
@sampyannotti9 ай бұрын
This was at REX in the 90s though, where they were all hanging out. I'd imagine that on any given night you could run into Alan Braxe, Benjamin Diamond, or Thomas Bangalter; I mean Laurent Garnier OWNS the club. The only real difference was that they were all at the beginning of their careers around this time.

@@sampyannotti that would be an impressive sight, I was in Paris recently and tried visiting Rex club but sadly it’s closed for renovations and doesn’t reopen until October. It’s a shame that when I eventually go there is no daft punk to see but I think I’ll have fun regardless

The story behind this set is that it was leaked by a Rex Club employee. It's been circulating for years but it's still remained relatively quiet despite that fact that it has a lot of rare songs (The Chase remix). You can still find the download to this leaked album but I'm not sure where. I just have had it downloaded since 2015
@AehabCries3 жыл бұрын
@@wullieanderson6884 well yea. It's from 1997. And I started listening to daft punk when I was like 14. I just looked for hidden tracks online and I found that.
@EddieG18883 жыл бұрын
The full story is that the Rex employee was a user on Audiogalaxy back in the day. I know this because I'm one of the first, if not the first person he shared this with, and I'd guess that this copy here was very likely seeded out by me. The audio quality on this version is slightly less than CD because he refused to release the full quality version, but I would say that a lot of the first copies of this available online came from my computer. And this recording was incredible back in the day, because there was no crowd noise or anything else, it was obviously taken right from the house PA, and I'm assuming that Daft Punk just took the left and right outs from their desk into two channels of the house desk, and that's how it was recorded.

Do you have the set in high quality? Or just in mp3?

@@EddieG1888 id pay just to get this version in high quality.
@EddieG18883 жыл бұрын
@@tppr7881 If I could help you out bud, I would. I literally begged the guy on Audiogalaxy, even just to give me a copy that I wouldn't share, but he point-blank refused. I guess I should be thankful he shared it at all. But if you can imagine back then, Alive 1997 wasn't out at that point, most of the DP bootlegs available online were DJ sets, so for an actual gig to turn up online without any crowd noise, people were going nuts for it!

@christopheryanez2 жыл бұрын
@@bboynation101 you sure? I remember seeing an article about Alive 2017 and was bummed out because it was fake lol. The only article I see is from April of 2021 and I don’t see any bigger media sites or social media platforms talking about a Farewell Tour. I personally wasn’t that surprised to see them disband because during 2017 I remember searching up stuff to see why they haven’t had any big time performances since RAM’s debut at Coachella. It was because Guy Manuel apparently developed a hearing issue that prevented him from being 100% engaged with his work and as many know Daft Punk are perfectionists and don’t like to put out anything less than that. Fast forward a couple of years later and we find out that they make their retirement official. Due to a big reason like Guy’s hearing issue, I can’t see them performing any time soon especially since they never did any kind of big tour after Alive 2007. RAM personally felt like a farewell album since, if I’m not mistaken, it was kinda about Thomas and Guy reminiscing on the past, giving their thanks to their predecessors who shaped the way for their style of music to exist, and basically expressing their gratitude to music as a whole for every good thing it has helped them to accomplish. I kinda took that as a sign that they were eventually going to retire and Guy’s hearing issue only made it harder for me to bring my hopes up that another world tour would happen.
