I met a girl by chance on holiday over 20 years ago when I was 11 or 12 and had the best week or two of my life. The feeling I had when I was with her I’ve never had back. Maybe it was young love, maybe true love? But the feelings I felt during that time come flooding back when I listen to this song. All I can think about was that holiday in Malta in the summer of 1998 and how happy I was, but then how upset I was to leave. Since I’ve made contact with her and it’s great to hear she’s well and has a wonderful life of her own, as do I. Such a brief moment in time in relation to my whole life but those two weeks will stay with me forever. Thank you Daft Punk, you’ve hit the nail on the head with this one.
