I once auditioned for a play and was pressed for a monologue. I had none prepared so, instead of saying that I wasn't prepared, I recited this intro from memory. I only remembered it because I restarted this game a billion times trying to get better weapons. I did not book the part. But I can still recite this intro.

@randjan85929 жыл бұрын
Jim Fath lol So, if they hated it, I assume that's a bad thing, but before it sounded like something good happened? xD Also I would guess the problem is that this is not a monologue. Even though the emperor isn't being answered, he is talking to someone, but not himself. Though then again, many things could be said in a monologue, so I'm probably wrong. Did you really start with "Excuse the gloom?" xD
@infernocanuck4 жыл бұрын
No wonder they hated it. Every single actor, amateur or professional, understands that a monologue is a part of the audition process. You don't get "pressed" for a monologue. What happened is that you didn't prepare anything, and improvised some speech from a video game. So, you probably came off as someone who didn't take the audition seriously and had no idea what they were doing

@the_diplomat517 жыл бұрын
If you mean Uriel Septim VII, which is the one in this video, it is normal for the actor's portrayal of Uriel VII to be stern and serious as always; not even leaving a small hint of smile. And here's the story: Uriel VII was once a rash, he grew in self-assurance and pride which led to the betrayal of Jagar Tharn who fed Uriel VII's pride therefore making him blind of Jagar's plot to usurp him. Jagar managed to imprison Uriel VII in Oblivion (you might have probably read the book in TES 4). Uriel VII was then saved from Oblivion (The Oblivion Realm of which Daedra was not specified. And it is not safe to assume if he was imprisoned in Mehrunes Dagon's realm.) after Queen Berenziah, who wished to seek the presence of Uriel VII, unmasked the magical impersonation of Jagarn Tharn as the Emperor, (Queen Berenziah is highly trained in the arts of thievery and magic. She once entered the Thieves Guild in Riften in her exile days.) which, in her horror, recognized him but not in his true name Jagar Tharn, but as Nightingale. (Side Story to sate you confusion: Queen Berenziah was once seduced by a bard named Nightingale, and yes you may or may have not assumed right, it was Jagar Tharn. Jagar seduced Berenziah into taking him down the hiding place of the Mournhold mines in order to steal the Staff of Chaos. After successfully stealing it, he disappeared. ) Back to Uriel VII: Regarding Uriel VII's serious, stern, and worried look; he was deeply affected by the nightmares and dreams he saw in Oblivion. He did not sense the passing of time in Oblivion, but we can't assume that he did not sense his aging coming in place. He was very different from the Rash, Proud, and Sell-Assured Uriel VII; he came back weak in body. Uriel VII became conservative, grave, patient, and pessimistic, discarding his old characteristics after what the realm of Oblivion has rendered him. And for those who do not know, yes, you've just seen the same emperor three times in the franchise. Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion, followed the reign of Emperor Uriel Septim VII.

Hope so - I remember this intro far more than I do most other intros, even ones made much more recently than this ones 12 years ago. :)

Ahh, memories.. My brother and I would laugh at how you could, one night, break into the weapon shop, steal all the gear, sneak back to your room, sleep, then go back in the morning and sell everything you stole back to the shopkeeper for loads of money! Was definitely an addictive game!

I can already see it... A remake of Daggerfall, with graphics similar to late PS1 quality to retain some of that gritty feeling. The game would span a set of 5 discs, with a total install size of almost 50GB. All of Tamriel is explorable in extensive detail at real-world scale. NPC interaction is mostly voiced but with vast amounts of text-based conversation. Jeremy Soule arranges a modern version of the score. All the RPG staples or II supplemented with the advances of III/IV/V. Its a dream :)

I like how this Uriel Septim looks more like Patrick Stewart than the Uriel Septim that was voiced by Patrick Stewart.

It's in the Northwest, in High Rock. If you do an image search for 'daggerfall map tamriel,' you'll get plenty of results.
