I could have sworn that granite, andesite, and diorite were added earlier! They feel like such a normal part of the game now that I don't even think about it anymore

Fun fact about ocean monuments that makes them pretty unique among generated structures : In the 1.8 update, they could be generated retroactively. In other words, a deep ocean that was generated in 1.7 that would in 1.8 contain a monument would generate that monument when the world was updated to 1.8. Huge props on getting those mob heads, what a massive pain without channeling being in the game.

You don’t technically have to fight the dragon again for 1.9 you can just bridge about a thousand blocks out in any direction and the outer end island will start generating

@@RGC_animation when i updated my world from 1.8.9 to 1.9.4 it wouldn’t let me respawn the dragon so it might be the only way for him other than resetting the end dimension

2:02 for a second i thought the feature was being able to get trapped like that. silliness aside, i've been excited for this video for a while. as i've said in multiple previous comments, 1.8 was my favorite update once upon a time. i'm still nostalgic for it to this day. the sole reason was for the bunnies, heh.

regarding the banners - i wouldn't count a pickaxe with silk touch as a different tool from a pickaxe with fortune, outside of them not literally being one pickaxe. they're both diamond pickaxes. i feel the same logic applies to the banners. glad to see this series back! :]

the difference, as i see it, would be that different coloured banners require different materials. black wool and red wool are different blocks that can't be stacked together, whereas both diamond pickaxes are made the same way and then 'customised' differently. i hope i'm making sense here but also, i'd argue that a diamond pickaxe with silk touch is a different tool than a diamond pickaxe with fortune (or any other enchantment, for that matter) - yes, they're both pickaxes, but they have different properties and uses. you wouldn't use a silk touch pick with the same intent you would a fourtune pick. sisters not twins and all that

I now remembered when they added player heads in the game with commands, so I used it to give my friends mob heads of their own skins. One of them also asked for another username which I later learned was the username of his crush 💀

I know it's too late to ask now for any as of yet unreleased updates, but when the videos get up to date, can u share the world stats for us? I know it won't cover the first couple of videos but I'd like to see blocks traveled, mobs killed, blocks mined, etc.

About a week before this update came out was when I started playing Minecraft for the first time. I did not know that the different stone types were new to the update, cause I didn't do that much mining back then. I also did not keep up with updates that well either. I remember going onto Minecraft and making a door out of dark oak logs, and being shocked when the door looked different from how it normally was. So I went around and tried to gather as many different types of wood to see if those would make different-looking doors as well. I was surprised to find that all the wood types had new doors except for oak. Ah, good memories!

I just saw it now, you actually forgot the Mushroom Stem, it’s a separate block from the both mushroom colors! At least I couldn’t see it at all. Edit: I’m now 100% sure, you did forget the Mushroom Stem from the big mushrooms.

The mushroom stem block wasn't actually a separate block back then, originally the stem blocks were just variants of the brown and red mushroom blocks, and using silk touch on those would give you the red/brown mushroom block they secretly were. Mushroom stem blocks were separated from red and brown mushroom blocks in 1.13. This actually had the side effect of stem blocks no longer giving you mushrooms when mined, since now there was no distinction between red and brown mushroom stems.

Charged creepers actually do a ton of damage! The reason you weren’t taking damage from the explosions is because there was a block in the way. Blocks block explosion damage.
