I, for one, am totally with Dagoth Ur (the Fun) in enjoying stupid things with sincerity. *Grabs a comically large bucket of popcorn with an equally large cup of soda.* Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go root for Dagoth Ur (the God) and watch him beat Orc Ass.

"The reason why our pervasive cultural irony is at once so powerful and so unsatisfying is that an ironist is impossible to pin down...irony is based on an implicit 'I don't really mean what I'm saying.' So what does irony as a cultural norm mean to say? That it's impossible to mean what you say? That maybe it's too bad it's impossible, but wake up and smell the coffee already? Most likely, I think, today's irony ends up saying: 'How totally banal of you to ask what I really mean.'" - David Foster Wallace

Sad that Nerevar isn't the destined saviour and successor of the Fist of the Moon and Star style.

See I have the blurse of all passionate writers. I CAN enjoy things I know are overtly stupid if they are written well or work with the flow of the story. But boring? No. Example: I play super robot wars. No that isn’t the end of the story sit back down. In SRW W they introduced Gundam Astray and one of the robots from that wields a katana the size of a battleship at one point. I was disappointed, but not because of the stupid size of the sword. I was disappointed because I realized that as silly as the concept is there is no really exciting way to wield it. It is just a practical beat stick. Fine. BUT then he later uses his machine to PUNCH THE FUCK out of a self repairing gundam and lectures the guy, telling him the importance of repairing your own machines while jamming his arm deep into the gundam’s chest. And the part that warmed my heart was that that move hits harder than the massive Katana. Does it makes sense? Maybe if I think about it, but I don’t care. Him being stronger with this machine unarmed is so badass I didn’t care. That’s the fun kind of stupid.

Clearly the passing eras have not been kind to you Voryn. Perhaps you may be interested in a Bottle of Greef. I find that drinking this concoction in moderation allows me to better reflect on my life and decisions.
